Picking up a 4-0 lead in the third inning, the Allegheny Gators were able to hold off a late rally by Thiel, earning a 7-5, seven-inning win on Thursday at Tomcat Park. Benn Murray, the reigning Allegheny Male Athlete of the Week, led the team with three RBI. On the mound, Chase Boyer threw four scoreless innings, allowing one hit while striking out three to earn the first win of his collegiate career.

Wesley fell to No. 15 Salisbury, 8-1, at Bob Reed Field in CAC action. Salisbury starting pitcher Connor Shockley threw seven innings and allowed just one run on seven hits and struck out five to earn the victory.

Old Westbury defeated the Drew Rangers by a score of 10-0 in a non-conference matchup on the road from Doc Young Field. Old Westbury's bats laid dormant early on until John Angelino's RBI single in the fourth inning scored Kevin Licui for the eventual game-winning run.  The Panthers collected a bounty of insurance runs in the eighth and ninth innings, scoring nine runs over the final two innings.

Springfield picked up two big conference wins over MIT. The Pride finished a 15 inning halted game, winning 2-1, then shutout the Engineers for a 2-0 win behind strong pitching from Travis Lane.  On March 25, Springfield and MIT battled through 14 innings, until darkness forced the game to be suspended with a 1-1 tie. The game was picked up on Thursday in the top of the 15th and the Pride made quick work of MIT, prevailing with a 2-1 win that required just one extra inning.

Seniors Kevin Davis and Griff Tewksbury each recorded RBIs in the top of the seventh to help propel Bates to a 3-1 win over Saint Joseph's (Maine) at Larry Mahaney Field. Six pitchers for the Bobcats combined to hold the Monks to five hits in the home opener for the hosts and the first game in the state of Maine for both teams.

Fredonia State traveled to Houghton College to take on Brockport, and came away with a 6-2 win. Poor field conditions forced the game to be moved to all-turf complex at Houghton. Ciro Frontale led the Blue Devils with four hits, as Fredonia State out-hit Brockport 13-7. Wesley Burghardt had three hits for the Eagles.

For the second time this season, Salem State knocked off a Top 25 opponent. This time, the Vikings upended No. 5 Southern Maine, 6-4 at Salem State's Central Campus Baseball Field. The Vikings jumped out to an early 4-0 lead in the first inning cruised to the mid-week win.

No. 17 Shenandoah earned its 20th victory of the 2014 season with a 3-2 non-league win at Catholic. Sophomore Michael Scimanico tossed a complete game in just his second-ever start. He scattered six hits while striking out seven in earning his first victory of the season.

Johnson & Wales posted a 7-3 victory against Wentworth in a non-conference game at the Scotts Miracle-Gro Athletics complex. Jack Hocking went 3-for-4 with a pair of runs scored for JWU while Alex Pezzuto and Jake Dickerson each had two hits on the day for the Wildcats.

William Paterson started its NJAC schedule with a 6-3 victory against visiting Ramapo. Senior starter Anthony DeEsposito  struck out five while scattering three hits during 7.0 innings on the mound for the Pioneers.

Colby Herr led the Spartans offense with a 3-for-5 day at the plate.

York (Pa.) extended its win streak to 11 games after a 10-5 victory over non-conference neighbor Messiah on a rain-soaked Jaquet Field. It was a seven-run fourth inning that put York in the lead for good as the Spartans tallied five hits, combined with one costly Messiah error to start the inning that led to the offensive outburst.

Sophomore outfielder Jake Wardwell went 2-for-4 with five RBI to lead Framingham State to an 11-1 non-conference victory over Keene State in the Rams home opener at Bowditch Field. With the win, the Rams even their record at 8-8 on the year, while the Owls slide to 4-8 overall.

Freshman Alex Rozak's pinch-hit RBI single in the bottom of the eighth inning snapped a 2-2 tie and led Mass-Maritime to a 4-2 non-league victory over Newbury at Commodore Hendy Field. The host Buccaneers have now won five of their last six outings.

With a combined 18 hits and a six-run top of the ninth inning Mass-Boston got back on the winning track as they defeated the Owls of Westfield State by the final of 16-13 at Jim and Bud Hagan Field. Tied at 10-10 going into the top of the ninth the Beacons exploded for six runs on three hits. Jamill Moquete was the driving force in UMass Boston's breakout inning as he crushed his second triple of the afternoon to drive in three runs.
