Michael Paul and the Shenandoah Hornets earned their first ever ODAC tournament win.

No. 14 Shenandoah won its opening game of the 2014 ODAC Baseball Tournament with a 7-1 win over sixth-seeded Hampden-Sydney. Thompson tossed his fourth consecutive complete game, allowing the one run on 10 hits. The Shenandoah offense helped Thompson out as they pounded out 14 hits against three Hampden-Sydney pitchers with eight of the nine SU starters getting at least one hit. In other ODAC action, Lynchburg rallied, ten score two run in the tenth inning to grab a 3-1 win over regionally ranked Randolph-Macon. Bridgewater was a 5-4 winner over Washington and Lee in 10 innings.

Junior Dillon Gonzalez and first-year Kevin Murphy combined for five hits, four runs scored, and five runs batted in to help fourth-seeded Babson defeat fifth-seeded WPI, 11-7, in a NEWMAC quarterfinal at Govoni Field. With its seventh win in a row, Babson advances to face top-seeded Wheaton (Mass.) in a best-of-three semifinal series starting on Saturday.  Wheaton lost to Salve Regina, 11-2, in a tune-up game for the NEWMAC tourney at Reynolds Field. 

Marian piled up 21 runs on 22 hits in a doubleheader sweep over host Carthage and snapped an 11-game skid against its non-conference opponent in the process with wins of 12-7 and 9-3. Seven Sabres registered multiple hits on the day, led by junior Jordan DeBoer and freshman Tommy Dugandzic, who totaled three hits each. Trevor Nicholson pitched five strong innings to earn the game one victory, while Hunter Veness tossed a complete-game, falling just two outs shy of his first-career shutout.

No. 11 Rowan scored two runs in the bottom of the ninth to walk off with a 5-4 victory over The College of New Jersey. Ryan Pavlik stole second and was able to score the winning run when shortstop Ryan Williams' ground ball to the second baseman could not be handled.

Wesley edged Susquehanna, 2-1, at H. Bollinger Field. Eric Willey earned his fifth win of the year, allowing six hits and one run, while striking out six. Andrew Cooper pitched two scoreless innings to earn his sixth save of the season.

Trailing in the second inning, the Allegheny bats came alive in the third and fourth innings as the Gators picked up a, 11-5 win over the Blue Devils at Ludwig Field. Senior Kyle Davis and junior Zach Gray drove in three runs apiece to tie for the team lead, while freshman Robert DiMaggio set a new career-high with a team-high three runs.

Devin Hayes earned his third win as Castleton State earned the top seed in the North Atlantic Conference.

The Spartans needed only one victory to earn the top seed in the North Atlantic Conference Tournament this weekend, but gained a pair of wins in their regular season NAC finale against New England College, shutting out the Pilgrims 3-0 and 18-0. With the two wins, Castleton finishes their regular season with a 20-3 record within the NAC, and will host the NAC Tournament at the top seed for the third consecutive year.

Senior Brendan Lynch was 3 for 4 with a triple, double and four RBI to power Eastern Connecticut State to a 9-2 non-conference victory over Westfield State. After breaking Eastern's 10-game winning streak in this series by capturing the second game of a doubleheader at the Eastern Baseball Stadium last year, Westfield lost its fourth straight to a member of the Little East Conference and fell to 1-6-1 in its last eight contests.

Junior Zach George went 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles and four runs batted in to pace Worcester State past Fisher, 11-3, in non-conference action at the Lyons Diamond.

Trailing by four runs going into the bottom of the ninth, MIT staged a dramatic rally that was capped by senior Creed Mangrum driving a ball into the right centerfield gap to plate the winning run in a 13-12 win over UMass Boston.

Lancaster Bible swept Valley Forge Christian at Charger Field and broke several game records in the process. The Chargers won game one, 31-2 and took game two, 16-3. The three-game winning streak is a season-high for the Chargers. The 47 runs scored over the two games is also a new program record, as it broke the previous record of 37 which was set in 2010 when the Chargers defeated Cairn, 21-0 and 16-0.

Senior Matt Pelletier rapped out three hits and drove in a pair of runs to back freshman Alex Rozak's first collegiate win on the mound and led Mass-Maritime to a 7-1 non-league victory over Wentworth.

he Springfield College baseball team picked up a New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) win on Thursday, beating visiting Emerson, 12-2 on Berry-Allen Field.

Springfield was led by the bats of Keith Cotnoir (Westhampton, Mass.), Jared Hopkins (Cranston, R.I.) and Shane O'Leary (Kings Park, N.Y.) in the win. Cotnoir drove in three runs while Hopkins and O'Leary drove in two each. Frank Calabrese (East Longmeadow, Mass.) and Steve Starr (Lebanon, Conn.) each tallied two hits.

Tyler Kelly (Absecon, N.J.) earned the win on the mound in his first collegiate start for the Pride. Kelly went five innings, allowing three hits and just one run while striking out four.
