  • In what are most likely the earliest games played outdoors in the upper Midwest by a Bethel or UW-Stout baseball team, the Blue Devils split their season opener with Bethel, winning the first, 6-5, but dropping the second, 7-3, at the University of Northwestern Reynolds Field Monday.

Junior Matt Meleo was 3-for-4 with two runs scored as Kean picked up a 6-1 win over Old Westbury on Monday afternoon. Sophomore southpaw Emilio Calderon tossed eight strong innings allowing just one run and five hits.  He walked no one and struck out three.

On day one, the Heidelberg cruised to a win, but on day two, it was a different story. The Student Princes had to put together two-out rallies in both games on Monday, coming from behind late in both to pull off a pair of victories. In game one, Heidelberg scored three in the ninth to force extra innings, walking off with a 7-6 victory in 10 innings over Montclair State. In game two, the Berg shocked St. John Fisher with five runs with two out in the bottom of the eighth, rallying for the 6-3 win.

St. Scholastica swept a doubleheader from Bridgewater State (Mass.), winning game one 4-0 and rallying to win game two 4-2. In game one senior Padraic Getchell allowed only two hits, walked one and struck out six in the complete-game shutout for the Saints. In game two, the Saints needed three runs in the top of the sixth to rally past the Bears.

In a rematch of last year's conference co-champions, eighth-ranked Emory defeated 15th-ranked Case Western 6-2 to take sole possession of first place in the team standings two days into the 2015 UAA Championships in Sanford, Florida. In more UAA action, New York University earned its first-ever UAA victory as the Violets defeated Association-rival Brandeis 2-1 behind the pitching of Cameron Serapilio-Frank.

Ryan Finnegan drew a walk with a full count, bases loaded and two outs in the bottom of the 10th to complete a seven-run comeback for Penn State Behrend. The Lions defeated Northwestern 9-8 in ten innings for their first win of the season.

Nate Weiss earned the Terrier's second win of the season.

Hiram split a doubleheader with Swarthmore winning the first game 5-2, but falling in Game 2 by a 4-2 score at the Gene Cusic Classic in Fort Myers, Florida. In game one, Hiram senior Nate Weiss tossed six innings, giving up one earned run and striking out four for his first win of the season. In game two it was the Garnets' starter who earned the win. Swarthmore senior Pat Rhodes went the distance, giving up four runs and striking out two batters.

Freshman Robby Sheldon picked up his first collegiate win after carrying a no-hitter into the sixth inning as Wentworth salvaged a split with Westfield State with an 8-2 win. Westfield State junior designated hitter Tim Santilli was 2-for-3 with a double and a home run to help lead the Owls to a 13-3 win in the opener.

Drew rebounded from a lopsided loss to the No. 5 Kingsmen but despite a balanced attack was unable to add to their win total as Cal Lutheran defeated the Rangers 8-7 in 11 innings.

Baruch finished their Florida road trip, dropping a single game to Thiel, 13-3. In Monday's spring break finale, the Bearcats jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning against Thiel. Thiel stormed back by scoring the next 13 runs, which included six in the third and five in the fifth innings, to lead 13-2. An eighth inning RBI single for Baruch completed the scoring.

Freshman right-hander Jose Ortiz was masterful in his collegiate pitching debut, hurling a complete-game two-hit shutout and red-hot senior first baseman Alex Weinstein had five RBIs as New Jersey City won its first baseball game this season, thrashing Dickinson, 11-0 in seven innings.

The WPI and Roger Williams split a pair of one-run games, 5-4, 6-7 at the RussMatt Invitational. Roger Williams scored a run in the final inning of each game, falling a run short in the opener and breaking the tie in the second.

Wisconsin Lutheran opened its 2015 season, splitting its doubleheader against Haverford. The Warriors came away with a 5-2 game one victory, before falling in game two 8-4. Wisconsin Lutheran scored five runs in the first two innings of the opener and made the talleys hold up.  in the nightcad, the Fords banged out nine hits and stole seven bases to gain the split.
