New Paltz rallied from 4-0 and 6-4 deficits as the Hawks defeated nationally sixth-ranked Cortland, 8-6, to salvage the third game of a three-game weekend series with the visiting Red Dragons. Cortland (28-7, 13-2 SUNYAC) had its 20-game winning streak snapped with the loss. The Red Dragons will enter next weekend's final SUNYAC regular-season series at Oswego a game ahead of the Lakers (12-3 SUNYAC) in the league standings. Whichever team is able to win at least 2-of-3 games will claim the top seed and hosting rights for the SUNYAC postseason tournament. Ryan Votypka earned the win in relief for New Paltz (14-14, 7-7 SUNYAC), which is currently in fourth place in the league, two games ahead of Fredonia and Oneonta. The four teams qualify for the conference tournament. Votypka, now 2-1, allowed four hits and one run with four strikeouts and one walk in four innings. Conor Donachie started and gave up five runs on six hits with three strikeouts and a walk in five innings.
Sunday afternoon proved to be a high point for John Carroll. The Blue Streaks tallied nine runs on 14 hits to back four of their freshman pitchers and knock off the No. 2 team in the country, the College of Wooster, at Art Murray Field. The win is arguably the team's biggest of the campaign, as the Fighting Scots entered play with a 25-3 record, 7-0 clip at home and a 20-game winning streak spanning from March 21 to April 21. Kasey Anzelc allowed two runs on five hits over three innings before Erich Payne, Nicholas Michel, Andrew Steele and Carter Semancik combined for six innings of four-run ball. Aaron Zawadzki went 3-for-4 with a run and three RBIs, while Patrick Keohane went 3-for-5 with two runs, one double and an RBI. The top four hitters in the Blue and Gold lineup totaled 10 of the team's 14 base knocks in the high-scoring affair.
Texas Lutheran split a Sunday road doubleheader with Southwestern and secured a 2-1 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference series win. TLU won the first game Saturday 7-4,and SU took game two 6-4. The Bulldogs posted an 8-4 win over the Pirates in Friday's series opener. All three games were played at SU's Rockwell Baseball Field. The Bulldogs sit in third place in the SCAC Baseball standings. The Bulldogs are 28-9 overall and 10-5 in the SCAC. Southwestern is tied for first with No.1 Trinity University in the SCAC regular-season title race. The Pirates are 22-13 overall and 13-2 in conference.
Junior Mike Dellicarri collected three hits and classmate Brian Nolan allowed one earned run in seven strong innings to propel the No. 24 Oswego State baseball team to an 11-2 victory over Plattsburgh on Sunday afternoon. The Lakers move to 21-8 overall and 12-3 in conference while the Cardinals fall to 7-21 (1-14). Nolan (5-2) earns his fifth win of the season while allowing only five hits during the contest. Matt Bowman and senior Patrick Gosney each pitched a clean inning in relief to close the door on any Cardinal comeback efforts. Dellicarri continues his monster season for the Lakers as he leads the team in hits, runs, batting average, homeruns, and runs batted in. He ranks among the top-three players in each of those categories in the SUNYAC conference coming into the weekend and his 7-for-13 performance this weekend should only solidify his position.
Marietta closed out a busy week with a doubleheader sweep of Wilmington in Ohio Athletic Conference action. The Pioneers shutout Wilmington in game one, 5-0, and then took the second game, 11-1. The Pioneers improve to 22-9 overall and 10-4 in the OAC. Wilmington falls to 9-21 on the season and 1-11 in conference play. Marietta is one game behind OAC leader Otterbein, who is 11-3, and one game ahead of Baldwin Wallace and Ohio Northern, who are both 9-5 in the league.

One day after a pair of emotionally-charged victories over the defending conference champions, the No. 17/22 Franklin College baseball team stepped out of conference play on Sunday (Apr. 22) afternoon, taking on Thomas More College at John P. McDowell Field. Game one saw the Grizzlies (28-2) jump out to a big lead, but a late rally by the Saints (14-15) made things interesting. In the end, the Grizzlies were able to hold off their guest's charge and pick up a 10-9 win. In game two, junior Ben Sprinkle held the Saints to two runs over six innings in his first career start, a 5-2 Grizzly win that ran the team's winning streak to eight.

The #1 Trinity Tigers finished off a three-game Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference weekend series with a 7-4 win over the University of Dallas. Trinity fell behind early in the game for the third time in the series, but was able to battle back for another win. Dallas started the scoring with two runs in the second, but the Tigers came back with a run in the second and two more in the third to take a 3-2 lead. Trinity scored twice more in the fourth, followed immediately by a two-run fifth inning for the Crusaders to make it just a 5-4 Tiger advantage. The Tigers added two insurance runs in the bottom of the seventh, starting with back-to-back doubles from John Tucker and Jake Martin. Trinity pitchers held Dallas hitless over the final four innings to preserve the lead, finishing with 10 strikeouts overall.
In a matchup between two teams at opposite ends of the NACC standings, it was the Dominican Stars that rose up to surprise the No. 8 Concordia-Chicago Cougars by a 5-2 score in game one. The nightcap proved to be a tense affair as well, although the Cougars had enough left to hold on for a 6-4 win and achieve a split for the day. The story of game one was Dominican's starting pitcher, senior Colin Janison. The right-hander pitched a tidy complete-game five-hitter, not reaching the 100-pitch mark until the ninth inning. Concordia-Chicago looked to come back and gain the split in game two as they sent freshman Cole Carman to the mound. Carman earned his first collegiate decision with 5 1/3 effective innings, allowing three earned runs. Mike Formella pitched the final 3 2/3 innings, notching save number seven on the year.
Southern Maine used two big innings to build an early lead, then held off visiting Salve Regina for an 8-6 non-conference win Sunday afternoon at Ed Flaherty Field. The win was the second straight for the Huskies and improved their overall record to 20-8. The loss snapped the Seahawks eight-game winning streak as they fall to 16-11 overall. USM sophomore Colton Lawrence, who came on after Militano’s double in the seventh, retired all six batters he faced on a strikeout and five consecutive ground balls and was credited with his fourth win. Dexter came on to earned his 10th save of the season striking out the side in the ninth.
Youth was served on Sunday as No. 25-ranked Adrian had its young talent on display to sweep a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association doubleheader at Albion, thrashing the host Britons by 18-1 and 11-4 scores to win the regular season series 4-0. Sophomore Gunner Rainey had a career-high four hits in both contests and tied personal records with three runs scored and three runs batted in during the opener. Freshman pitcher Jordan Williams threw a complete-game to start the day. He had seven strikeouts against only one run, four hits and a walk given up. Junior Jason Schroeder (W, 3-1) pitched 7-2/3 effective innings in the nightcap, getting nine strikeouts. He walked two while allowing five hits and four runs (all unearned).
