Spalding beat a familiar foe in Webster twice to take home the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Tournament Championship. It is the first SLIAC Tournament title in the program's history.
Are we seeing the changing of the guard in the SLIAC? Spalding swept Webster on Sunday. In the UAA, Case Western kept pace with New York University by taking three of four UAA games over the weekend.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Spalding baseball team beat #8-ranked Webster, 12-3 and 5-4, Sunday afternoon to secure the series over the Gorloks. With the wins, the Eagles improve to 10-8 overall and 2-0 in SLIAC play. Spalding will go for the sweep Monday, March 28 at 2:00 p.m. ET.
Wbster and Spalding both won their SLIAC pods and will play for the SLIAC crown and a playoff bid next weekend. In the NEWMAC, Babson and Wheaton (Mass.) were evenly matched and both won a game to set up a winner-take-all game on Sunday.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Spalding University senior Peyton Hood threw a no-hitter to lead the Eagles to a 3-0 win over Blackburn College Sunday afternoon on Senior Day. The last no-hitter thrown by a Eagle was on March 30, 2014 when Javier Guerra struck out 11 in a Spalding 16-0 victory over the Red Devils. With the win, Spalding improves to 19-12 on the season and 17-3 in conference play.

ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The Spalding University baseball team split a doubleheader against Fontbonne, winning game one ,3-2, but dropping game two, 8-7, Saturday in St. Louis, Mo. With two wins over number 6/12 ranked Webster Wednesday, the Golden Eagles went 3-1 on the week against teams ranked in the top-25 and/or receiving votes.

No. 11 Misericordia opened with a sweep of No. 25 Shenandoah on a day four other Top 25 teams were dealt losses. UW-Whitewater opened their season with a loss, a 8-5 set back to Spalding, for the first time in ten years.
