Presentation picks Eikum for coaching job

Presentation College athletic director Rick Kline, has announced the hire of Jesse Eikum as the head baseball coach for PC.

A Plymouth, Minn. native, Eikum comes to PC after gaining coaching experience at various Division III schools with decorated honors. He spent this past year as an assistant coach at Wisconsin-Whitewater, a participant in the NCAA Division III College World Series. Eikum spent the 2010 spring season as the assistant coach at his high school alma mater, Wayzata High School, while teaching physical education to sixth through eighth graders at Wayzata Central Middle School.

From 2007 to 2009 Eikum was a member of the NCAA Division III National Champion coaching staff at St. Thomas University in St. Paul, Minn., while earning his Master of Science in Athletic & Activities Management.

Eikum is familiar with the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference; he earned a Bachelors of Science in Physical Education in 2005 from Northwestern College in Roseville, Minn.  Eikum was a pitcher and third baseman for the Eagles, and earned UMAC First Team All-Conference Honors in 2004 after transferring from Biola University in California. Eikum was member of the Biola squad that made an appearance at the NAIA World Series in 2001, and won the Golden State Athletic Conference Championship in 2000 and 2001.

“Jesse has had some great experience in top-tier Division III programs,” said Kline. “His passion for the game is evident to anyone who talks to him, and we're excited for the continued success he will bring to Presentation College.”
