The Team of the Week is D3baseball.com's weekly honor roll, in its twelfth season of recognizing the top performers at each of nine positions from the previous week. Players are selected from nominations from their school's sports information directors. This is the tenth Team of the Week of the 2024 season.

Games of April 15-21, 2024

C   Caleb Miller, So., Union

Miller was instrumental in Union going 4-0 this week and outscoring opponents 71-23. The sophomore started all four games and batted .556 with 10 hits in 18 at-bats. Miller hit three home runs, recorded two doubles, and 11 RBIs with no strikeouts to extend his hit-streak to 16 consecutive games. Milled scored eight and drove in 11 runs.

1B  Sam Angelo, Sr., Montclair St.

Angelo batted .625 (10-for-16) with seven extra base hits (four doubles, a triple and two home runs). He drew seven walks, including multiple intentional walks for a .739 on-base percentage. He score 11 runs and drove in seven in four games.

1B  Julian Sanders, Sr., Claremont-Mudd-Scripps

Sanders batted .538 (7-for-13) with 10 RBIs and eight runs scored. He homered four times and and added a double in a three-game series sweep of Occidental, while also walking four times, giving him an OPS of 2.185 for the weekend. His solo homer in the final game of the series put CMS up 8-4 and held up as the winning run in an 8-7 victory, while he opened the series with a three-run homer in the first inning of the first game to make it 3-0 early.

2B  Andy Thies, So., UW.-Whitewater

Thies had a phenomenal week at the plate helping the Warhawks to a 4-1 record including three wins against #10 UW-La Crosse. In his 20 at bats, Thies recorded 12 hits (.600 batting average), including three home runs, one of which was a grand slam. Thies lead the Warhawks with 14 RBI over the course of the week.

SS  Connor Maryniak, Jr., Misericordia

Maryniak hit safely in all six games - including five multi-hit games as he slashed .542/.6-7/1.042. He had two each of doubles, triples and homers over the week as he scored 10 times and drove in 14. He was 4-5 in stolen base attempts.

3B  Shawn Steuerer, Jr., Johns Hopkins

Steuerer was excellent at the plate for Johns Hopkins, slashing .643/.600/1.429 in a 4-1 stretch. The junior closed out the week with seven runs scored and an RBI total of 14 across all five games.

3B  Brett Velzis, Sr., Mass. Maritime

In a 3-0 week, Velzis went 8-for-12 (.667) at the plate with three doubles, two homers, including a grand slam, 12 RBI and four runs scored while also posting a .692 on-base percentage.

OF  Jakob Ghammachi, Sr., Lewis & Clark

Gammachi went 7-for-13 with six extra-base hits and five RBI to lead Lewis & Clark to a 2-1 series win over Whitworth. The senior hit .538 on the weekend with three homers, two doubles and a triple to post a 1.538 slugging percentage. He hit safely, scored and drove in a run in all four games.

OF  Corbin Kinder, Jr., Rhodes

Kinder had a hit and RBI in all 4 games this week for the Lynx, batting .667 (12-for-18).  He scored eight and drove in  12 runs.

OF  Dylan Lamb, Sr., St. Thomas (Tex.)

Lamb was outstanding at the plate last weekend for St. Thomas, leading the Celts to a key SCAC series win over Schreiner. Lamb impressived with a .643 clip at the plate, going 9-for-14 with seven RBI and seven runs scored. Lamb accounted for six extra base hits, highlighted by a three triples performance in the rubber match victory on Saturday. He is just the third different player in SCAC history to hit three triples in one game, the first since 2005 and the first to do so in an SCAC contest. He drew two walks during the series to post an .706 on-base percentage and accounted for an 1.500 slugging percentage.

OF Tim Petrucelli,  Sr., Salisbury

Petrucelli slashed .643/.750/1.571 with four doubles, three home runs, seven RBIs, and 11 runs scored over the Sea Gulls' 4-0 week. Petrucelli homered in three straight games, including a solo shot on Saturday against Mary Washington that helped provide the difference in a 5-4 SU win.

DH  Carson Windeshausen, Jr., UW-Eau Claire

Windeshausen hit four home runs and a double in a four-game series against UW-Stout, finishing the series with nine hits and a .529 batting average (9-for-17). Windeshausen posted a 1.294 slugging percentage and drove in seven runs while scoring seven of his own. He also stole a base as UW-Eau Claire picked up two wins in the series.

SP  Aidan Brinsfield, Fr., Salisbury

Brinsfield pitched an eight-inning complete-game shutout to help the Sea Gulls beat Neumann 10-0 on Tuesday. Brinsfield gave up just two hits and one walk while striking out 10 Knights in his most dominant start of the year.

SP  Trey Castile, Sr., Simpson

Castile registered a career-high 15 strikeouts in a near no-hitter against Central. He carried a no-hit bid into the eighth inning, eventually giving up a pinch-hit single with two outs - Central's only hit of the day. He retired the first 11 batters he faced and scattered just three walks the rest of the way to earn his sixth win of the year.

SP Nathan Furino, Gr., Eastern Connecticut State

In a 6-0 Little East Conference win over Western Connecticut, Furino threw the 14th no-hitter in program history, facing only four batters over the minimum in posting his first career complete game. Furino threw 103 pitches, fanning nine with one walk and hitting two batters (both in the first inning). Furino fanned the side in the eighth and got an infield pop and two ground balls to end the game in the ninth. Furino completed the game by the getting the No. 3 hitter on a ground ball to third base on a 1-2 pitch.

RP  Jack Mullen, Jr., Colby-Sawyer

Mullen continues to be electric out of the bullpen for the Chargers this season tossing six innings without allowing a run this week including three saves. Mullen has not allowed a run since March 15th and now leads the GNAC in saves. This week he added 10 strikeouts over six innings of work while only surrendering two hits all week.

RP  Danny Tiedemann, So., Marywood

Tiedemann allowed just one hit and one runner in four innings of relief work through two games. He pitched a scoreless inning on seven pitches in a 14-10 win over King's. Tiedemann captured a three-inning save versus Cabrini. Entering with a 7-5 lead in the fifth inning, he yielded just one base hit for his first save. Tiedemann had a 0.00 ERA and 0.25 WHIP.
