San Antonio - The Tiger baseball team won its second consecutive Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championship with a 10-1 win over Texas Lutheran University on Sunday afternoon.

Trinity improved to 33-8 on the season, while Texas Lutheran fell to 27-17 with the loss.  The Bulldogs scored a run in the top of the first inning to open the game, but the Tigers scored 10 unanswered runs to take the victory.

After solo runs in the second and third to take a slim 2-1 lead, Trinity scored five runs in the fifth to take command of the game.  Senior Jules Cronk keyed the Tiger onslaught with a two-run homer in the inning, and he went 2-4 with one run and three RBI in the game.

Tiger reliever Nick Griffith pitched 6.2 shutout innings to finish off the game, earning his second win of the season.  He allowed just four hits, shutting down the Bulldog offense to keep Trinity in front.

Carter McEachern went 4-5 with two runs and two RBI to lead Trinity's offensive attack that finished with 16 hits.  McEachern hit a solo home run in the seventh, and also had a double.  Christian Muscarello was 3-5, while Cronk went 2-4 with three RBI.  Pat Hirschberg and Austin Singer picked up two hits and two runs each in the game.

Trinity receives the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Playoffs with the victory, and the Tigers were 3-0 in the tournament this weekend.
