Shenandoah sent 11 batters to the plate in the first inning and cruised to a 8-1 win over Bridgewater (Va.) to open the 2016 ODAC tournament on Thursday morning. In the middle game of the day, No. 5-seeded Virginia Wesleyan took a 9-8 lead in the seventh inning with four runs, but could not hold on to the lead as second seeded Randolph-Macon scored three in the bottom of the frame to win 11-9. In the late gane Washington and Lee edged Hampden-Sydney 2-1

Teddy Carey allowed just one hit over 7.2 innings and junior Jake Weiss went 2-for-4 with three RBI and two runs scored to help fourth-seeded Babson defeat the fifth-seeded u.s. Coast Guard Academy, 9-2, in a New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference tournament quarterfinal on at Govoni Field. With its sixth win in the last seven games, Babson advances to this weekend's best-of-three semifinal series at top-seeded MIT. Coast Guard sees its season come to a close.
Castleton extended its winning streak to 18 games and completed the season sweep over New England College after taking both games in today's doubleheader by scores of 4-1 and 19-3. With the victories, the Spartans have secured the top seed for the 2016 NAC Tournament, which will take place on May 6-8 at Castleton. The Pilgrims, meanwhile, have now lost ten straight with this afternoon's defeats.
Keystone scored seven of the final eight runs of Thursday’s non-conference game against Susquehanna to overcame a four-run deficit and post an 11-9 victory at Christy Mathewson Field. Prior to Thursday’s game, a moment of silence was observed in the memory of former Giants’ pitching standout Sean Murphy, who passed away unexpectedly earlier this week. Murphy was selected by the Oakland Athletics in the 2010 MLB Draft following an outstanding career at Keystone.
Ben Browdy went 4-for-5 at the plate and drove in two runs to increase his NCAA Division III-leading RBI total to 66 to lead the Washington (Mo.) to a 9-3 win over Millikin in St. Louis. WashU won its fifth-straight game. Brad Margolin picked up the win allowing eight hits and two earned runs in eight innings pitched. He struck out six and walked two. Margolin is 3-0 with a 2.93 earned run average in five starts in the month of April.
Kean used a balanced scoring attack to overcome an early deficit to defeat Rowan by the final of 7-2. With the win the Cougars remain atop of the NJAC standings with three games left to go in the regular season. Chris Amato picked up the complete game win. Amato scattered 10 hits with two runs and one strikeout.
Sophomore Jake Kawiecki went 5.0 innings to lead Western New England to a 4-1 win over RPI, in non-league action at Robison Field. Kawiecki allowed just one run on four hits to improve to 3-0 on the season. He struck out two and walked one.
Suffolk concluded its non-conference slate with its longest game of the year, topping UMass Dartmouth, 3-2, in 10 innings, for its seventh straight victory. Jake Frasca delivered the game-winning home run with an opposite field blast in the top of the 10th, breaking up the 2-2 tie since the end of the eighth. Seven of the nine Rams' starters had a hit, as the blue-and-gold posted 12 knocks in their second one-run win of the season under head coach Anthony Del Prete.

Middlebury scored the game's final six runs after an early 1-0 deficit, as the Panthers posted a 6-1 triumph over visiting Skidmore on Forbes Field. Tucker Meredith earned his first win of the season, allowing one run on seven hits in six innings with five strikeouts. Dylan Takamori, Ben Karlin and Donohue closed out the victory as each hurler tossed an inning of scoreless relief. Garrett Werner reached base in all five plate appearances for the Panther, officially going 3-3 with a walk and being hit by a pitch.
Cullen Franz ripped a one-out single in the bottom of the 10th to lift Alfred State to a 8-7 victory over Elmira. The Pioneers trailed 7-4 heading into the 9th but plated three runs in the 9th before winning it in the 10th. Franz finished 3-for -6 with two RBIs.
Benjamin Harrow collected four hits and four RBI, including the 100th hit of his career, in Nichols' 23-3 defeat of Fitchburg State at the Nichols Baseball Field. Matt Hardy went 3-for-3 with four RBI as the Bison collected their 20th win of the season for the first time since the 2004 campaign. Fourteen student-athletes combined for 23 hits on the afternoon as Brendan Martin and Ross Caswell, along with freshman Joe Assenza, also collected three hits apiece.
SUNY Canton exploded for 16 runs as it earned its second straight win against St. Lawrence with a 16-12 road victory. Jeremy Barz singled home Wilson Matos in the first for his 100th career hit. Later in the inning Seth Douglas had his 100th hit as a Roo with an RBI single to bring home Edward Malinoski.
Freshman Anthony Rosoline improved to 7-1 with a complete-game two-hitter and junior Josh Cote went 2-for-3 with two RBI as Rutgers-Newark defeated 13th-ranked The College of New Jersey, 4-0, in a rain shortened contest at George Ackerman Park. The Scarlet Raiders are in a battle for the final NJAC playoff berth with Rutgers-Camden and William Paterson. William Paterson was a 8-2 winner over Ramapo and Rutgers-Camden lost to Montclair State 10-3.
Eureka split a pair of St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference contests against the Principia Panthers, in Elsah, Ill. After being blanked in the opener, the Red Devils bounced back to tackle the Panthers in the nightcap. The Red Devils dropped the opener, 9-0, before rebounding to capture the nightcap, 6-2.
Sophomore Connor Kennedy collected three hits, including a go-ahead solo home run in the bottom of the fifth inning, to lead Massachusetts Maritime to an 8-3 non-league victory over Wentworth at Commodore Hendy Field. Cobie Gerbis and Tony Troy each added two hits as part of an 11-hit attack for the Buccaneers.

Clark closed out the 2016 season with a convincing 9-0 win over Rivier at Holman Stadium. The win for the Cougars is their school-record 18th of the year. Freshman pitching duo of Mike Tice and Cal Slepkow combined for the blanking. Slepkow registered his first career save. Offensively for the Cougars, Kyle Bonicki had his second career four-hit game, to go along with an RBI and three stolen bases.
New Jersey City defeated Stockton 3-2, scoring an unearned run in the bottom of the ninth. CJ Pulcine led off with a single and later stole second with one out. Pulcine was lifted for pinch-runner Sean Erhardt who scored the game-winning run on a throwing error to deal Stockton the 3-2 defeat.
John Carroll erupted for ten runs over the first five innings, then held on to cool off red hot Wooster, 10-7, in non-league action. Wooster had won eight games in a row heading into play today at Art Murray Field, but nearly proved true the baseball axiom that you can never have enough runs.
Conrad Ziemendorf went 3-for-3 with a walk, sac fly and a career-high five runs batted in as nationally top-ranked Cortland defeated Cazenovia, 11-4, in a non-league game at Wallace Field. Cortland, which won its 12th straight game, broke a 4-4 tie with six runs in the bottom of the sixth.
Jack Donnelly combined with three relievers to strikeout 12 as Southern Maine defeated Bates 9-5 in non-conference actiion at Leahey Field. Donnelly went 5.2 innings allowing four runs on nine hits and one walk while striking out five. Ryan Browner and Dan Kinnon each fanned two, and Jake Dexter struck out the side in the ninth inning.
Scranton put together a strong pitching and hitting effort en route to a 20-0 victory over Summit at Connell Park. Five pitchers combined on a six-hit shutout and the hitters produced 14 hits, including eight for extra bases, in the victory. The Royals led 5-0 after two innings and put the game away with eight runs in the sixth and seven more in the seventh.
