Green advanced twice on two wild pitches, one of which allowed Patrick Miller to cross home and tie the game 4-4. In the top of the ninth, Matt Ozanic started the final Viking rally with a walk and then advanced on a Kyle Wise sacrifice. SUNY New Paltz (3-5) lost a tightly contested Game 1 to the Knights, 8-6, but then ended its five game losing streak in Game 2, aided by a five-run seventh inning, 7-3. Both games went an official seven innings at Dutchess Stadium. "Feels good to get back in the win column for sure," said Hawks coach Thomas Seay. "We played a much better game two than game one and, of course, dominant pitching will do that, but our at bats were better in game two."

Spencer Cable was in a hitting mood on Saturday. The Hope College senior led off Game 2 of a doubleheader with a home run and his teammates caught the hitting bug, too. The Flying Dutchmen crushed Franklin 27-7 in Game 2 at Beech Grove High School in Beech Grove, Indiana after dropping Game 1, 18-6. The 27 runs was the most for Hope since a 28-2 win vs. Alma College in 2010 at Boeve Stadium. In Game 1, the Hope offense had just five hits. Otterbein used three straight singles in the top of the first to load the bases, but Parker got a rare 5-2-3 double play and escaped unscathed with a comebacker and the Panthers put a two-spot on the board in the bottom of the inning. Parker cruised from there, giving up just an unearned run in the third while dealing into the seventh before giving way to junior Eoin Hamell-Kelleher, who closed out the win. George Fox welcomed Pacific Lutheran to town for its home opener on Saturday, Mar. 5, and after suffering a 16-1 loss in the first game, Fox won with some theatrics after an 11th-inning walkoff 3-2 win in game two. The Bruins' offense struggled to find its rhythm in game one, squandering another good start from Sean Wiese on the mound. Wiese went six and a third for the Bruins but only got one run of support, and Fox went to the back half of its bullpen to close the game in what became a 16-1 defeat to start the afternoon. Fox bounced back to split the day in game two. Both teams struggled to find their balance against each other's best closing arms, but the Bruins won out in the 11th. Tyler Durant led off with knock to opposite field - his second of the game - in the 11th and then jogged home after Shane White laced an RBI single into left for the 3-2 final.

North Park's offense finally flipped the switch in the final game of the trip against Transylvania. Scranton did put together a late rally in the contest with runs in three of the final four innings, but ultimately came up short despite bringing the tying run to the plate in the seventh inning.
