A bit of everything as Waynesburg splits with St. Vincent

Gettysburg led 12-1 after the first three innings and held Mount Aloysius to just three additional runs the rest of the way for a 19-4 final. Alexander Wilkie-Viscio pitched 8.0 innings with six strikeouts and three earned runs to record his third win of the season.

Waynesburg totaled 28 hits in a Presidents' Athletic Conference doubleheader at Saint Vincent. The Jackets took a 10-8 win in game one but had a four-run ninth inning comeback spoiled by a walk-off fielders choice in a 6-5 defeat in game two. In game one, SVC blasted a leadoff home run in the ninth and brought the tying run to the plate with no outs after a walk. With two outs, Bearcat pinch hitter Jacob Auld sent a fly ball to deep center field where Garrett Comer made a leaping catch on the warning track for the game's final out. Jackets set a season-high with 16 hits and tied a season-high with 10 runs in the win. The Jackets stranded 11 baserunners over game two's first eight innings and trailed 4-1 going into the Aiden Williams tied the game at four with a two-run single to right field. After a strikeout and a walk loaded the bases with two outs, Comer scampered home on a passed ball to score the go-ahead run. SVC opened the bottom of the ninth with a hit batter and base hit. The Bearcats tied the game with a one-out double. The Jackets issued an intentional walk to load the bases. A sharply hit ball to second was fielded and thrown home but the throw was off-line as the Bearcats celebrated a 6-5 victory.

Junior Joel Garcia finished 3-for-6, including a single into left center field with two outs in the bottom of the 15th inning that scored Drew Taylor from second and lifted Buena Vista to a thrilling 3-2 victory over Simpson here at McBride Field on Friday afternoon. The game was the American Rivers Conference opener for both teams. Jordan Mathewson led off the home half of the inning with a walk but was later forced out at second on a fielder's choice from the catcher with Drew Taylor at the plate. After Evan Taylor flew out to center for the second out, Taylor then stole second and came around to score on Garcia's game-winner. The game turned into a pitcher's duel from the opening pitch. Both starters went deep into the game and the two sides combined for 33 strikeouts and only 15 hits.

Elizabethtown did not allow a hit until the eighth inning as they defeated Juniata, 5-2 in opening game of the series. Greg Zerbe got the win on the mound tying a career-high seven strikeouts. Joe Limongelli went 2-4 with two RBIs, one run, and one double. Bryce Keller went 2-4 with a stolen base. Elizabethtown scored first as Quinten Perilli crossed home plate on a wild pitch for the Blue Jays first run. Etown went up 2-0 over the Eagles as AJ Bednar reached first on a bunt and then advanced to third on a throw. On a ground out to shortstop, Bednar scored. Mason Woolwine reached first in the fourth inning via an error and then advanced to second. Woolwine then advanced to third on a sacrifice. Limongelli hit a RBI-single up the middle to score Woolwine. After a scoreless fifth, the Blue Jays were back at scoring their final two runs in the sixth. After reaching first on a walk, Woolwine had advanced to third. Limongelli hit a double to left field to score Woolwine for Etown's fourth run of the game. David Woolley then hit a double down the right field line to bring in Limongelli. Juniata scored their two lone runs of the game in the eighth to give Elizabethtown the 5-2 win.

Anthony Schooley and Tyler Cannon had three hits each as #7 Rowan pounded 17 hits en route to an 11-8 win at Swarthmore. The Profs improve to 12-2 on the season with their fourth straight victory. Starter Zach Coluccio went 5.2 innings and struck out four to earn the victory. Swarthmore scored six runs in the final inning but Sean Colbert was able to get the final out and record his first save of the year. Schooley was 3-for-5 with two runs scored while Cannon went 3-for-5 and scored four runs. The Profs had two-RBI games from Phil Sedalis, Dylan Maria, Jason Morgan and Nick Struble.

Averett knocked off No. 2 Shenandoah 9-5 in game two to earn a doubleheader split with the nationally ranked Hornets on Friday afternoon in Old Dominion Athletic Conference action. Shenandoah won the opening game 10-1. In Game 2, Averett (5-17, 1-6 ODAC) shifted the momentum from Game 1 early on, taking a 7-2 lead after three innings. Averette extended the lead to 9-2 after eight and gave up three runs in the bottom of the ninth, but managed to hold onto the lead for the big road win. Trevor Testerman had an exceptional performance in Game 2, going 4-for-5 and accounting for four of Averett's runs. Sophomore Tim Schware earned the win, allowing just three earned runs on seven hits over eight innings on the mound. In Game 1, Shenadoah (16-3, 6-2 ODAC) struck first early, taking a 2-0 lead in the first inning. The Hornets tacked on three additional runs in the sixth inning after a three-run home run. In the eighth inning, junior Mason Williams belted a home run over the left field fence to get the Cougars on the board. The Hornets responded in the eighth, scoring five runs to lead Averett 10-1.

Fourth-ranked Salisbury used a three-run ninth inning to scoot past the Washington College Shoremen, 8-5, for its 10th straight win on Friday afternoon at Athey Park. The teams traded a run each in the first inning. In the top of the first, Andrew Kell was plunked, stole second, and came home on a Tim Petrucelli double. In the bottom of the first, the Shoremen put two on with two out and Chase Ruppel tagged an RBI single to draw even at 1-1. The game stayed knotted up until the top of the fifth when the Sea Gulls loaded the bases on a Petrucelli walk, Dylan Winebrenner single, and Danny Sheeler free pass. Three batters later, Dom Frigiola cracked a grand slam to left to give Salisbury a sudden 5-1 cushion. WAC got half of those runs back in the home fifth. With two on and two out, Will Turner hit a single to center to score one, then a second run came in on a throwing error to shrink the margin to 5-3. In the seventh, Dino DiMauro tagged a one-out single, then two batters later Turner tied the game at 5-5 with a two-run shot to left. Salisbury got a rally going in the ninth as Sheeler reached on a leadoff error at second, followed by a Ben Anderson walk to put two men on. Pinch-hitter Roman March attacked the first pitch he saw and blasted one off the wall in left center. Sheeler and Anderson both scored on March's triple, and March came all the way around to score after a bad throw from the shortstop, giving the Sea Gulls an 8-5 lead they would not relinquish.

Shane Stossel hit two home runs in the final three innings to give Lebanon Valley a thrilling 9-8 extra-inning victory at DeSales University on Friday afternoon in the series opener between the teams at Weiland Park in Center Valley. The victory snapped an eight-game losing streak to the Bulldogs in the first meeting between the programs since 2015. LVC improved to 9-6 overall and 3-1 in the MAC Freedom while dropping the Bulldogs to 7-9 overall and 2-2 in conference play. Stossel had three hits and knocked in three runs while scoring twice. He recorded his third career multi-homer game and moved within two of the program record.

No. 19 Kalamazoo bounced back after its first loss of the season to defeat Ramapo 10-0 in seven innings in the second game of the Florida Trip on Friday. Braden Mussat (3-0) went six innings in his scoreless start, allowing just three hits and two walks with a career-high 11 strikeouts. Brenden Oprinski threw a clean seventh inning with a walk and a strikeout. David Stechow was a perfect 3-3 at the plate with three runs scored, two RBI, and was hit by a pitch. Harrison Poeszat finished 2-4 with two doubles and four RBI. Logan Lockhart notched two hits, and Tanner Hawkins finished with two RBI.

Stevenson (8-9, 3-2) stepped back into conference play against the Widener University Pride (5-11, 1-4) and swept the doubleheader 5-3 and 10-8 on Friday afternoon. In game 1, Nick Tamberino and Dalton Reinhart each added two RBI, while Christopher Manco totaled three walks. Five hits were added in the first game. At pitching, first-year Jake Treasure got the win with all innings pitched on three strikeouts, three runs and 10 hits. Graham Sears earned three RBI in the second game with two runs and a walk. Manco totaled two RBI and two hits. Three Mustangs pitched in the second game, with senior Jake Pigeon hitting three strikeouts on five runs and five hits. Senior Jason Labrador got a save with 1.0 inning pitched and one strikeout. Sophomore Brendan Phillips got the win with 4.1 innings pitched and two strikeouts.

Third inning home runs by senior Tyler Yohn and sophomore Ben Davis helped lead McDaniel to a 9-7 win over Stockton Friday at Preston Field. The Green Terror (8-8) snapped a three-game skid and posted their fourth win in five meetings against the Ospreys. Yohn and Davis each went 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBIs. Freshman Ethan Haddock had three hits, going 3-for-5 with two RBIs to extend his hitting streak to 12 games. Freshman Ryan Buecker made his third start of the season, allowing just hit and one unearned run over 3.0 innings before graduate student Ryan Martino picked up his second win of the year in 4.0 innings of relief.

St. Joseph's (L.I.) opened Skyline Conference play taking both ends of a doubleheader against Mt. St. Mary College at Gregg Alfano Field on Friday evening. The Golden Eagles shut out the Knights 6-0 in game one before claiming game two 15-3. In the opener, senior John Lynch was 2-for-2 with a walk and two runs scored and sophomore Dom Crema was 2-for-3 with two runs. SJLI starter Peter Manger shut the Knights out allowing just three hits with six strikeouts in a complete-game effort. In the nightcap, Jordan Ramlogan went 3-for-4 with two runs scored and three RBIs and Mike DiFilippo finished 3-for-4 with the runs scored and an RBI. SJLI Starter Rober Wagner earned the win allowing three runs on three hits with for strikeouts. Justin Jaskolski provided three innings of scoreless relief surrendering just one hit.

Sophomore pitcher Anthony Pass tossed a complete game three hitter and junior outfielder Drew Garth slugged a go-ahead home run to guide the Washington & Jefferson baseball team to a 6-2 win Friday afternoon in the Spring Break finale for the Presidents in Davenport, Fla. The Presidents went 4-2 during their Spring Break trip to Central Florida. Pass allowed just two runs on three hits during his nine innings of work. Pass registered 12 strikeouts and walked just two during the complete game effort. W&J took the lead for good in the bottom of the fifth inning. Jacob LaDuca singled with one out before stealing second base. A batter later, Drew Garth came through with a go-ahead two-run home run over the right field fence.

Suffolk lifted the lid on its 2024 Commonwealth Coast Conference campaign with a 7-4 game one victory over Nichols Friday at the Bison Baseball Field. The Bison made things interesting as it put up two runs in the home half of the eight to trim the distance down to one, 5-4. Nichols runs came behind three hits and a passed ball. The host did strand the tying and winning run on the bags thanks to the pitching relief from Patrick Desmond. A walk and hit by pitch to get the ninth underway forced Nichols to go to its pen and bring in Sean Ryan. The fresh arm got two outs quickly as he fanned Harry Painter swinging and Alex Sorenti-Burns looking. A walk by Adam Braid kept the frame going and allowed insurance to come for the blue-and-gold as Max Martin barreled a two-run single to extend the edge back to three, 7-4. Suffolk kept with the flair of dramatic endings as a pair of Bison found their way on to bring the tying run to the plate. The Rams defense backed up Desmond and Colin Flynn gloved William Nath's long out to center to preserve the conference-opening victory.

Middlebury launched three homeruns over the first two innings to take a 5-1 lead and did not look back, upsetting 13th-ranked Johns Hopkins 7-5 on Friday afternoon. The Blue Jays got on the board right away, tallying a run in the top of the first. Middlebury answered with three runs in the bottom of the frame and extended their lead in the second inning. Johns Hopkins pulled to within one in the sixth only to see Middlebury moved back in front by two (6-4) in the bottom of the inning. The Blue Jays would not go away, cutting the Panther lead to one (6-5) on a home run by Caleb Cyr in the top of the eighth. That was as close as Johns Hopkins would get. Middlebury tacked on a seventh tally in the bottom of the eighth as Chris Borter scored Gus Parker with yet another sacrifice fly to give the Panthers the 7-5 victory. Owen Tross picked up his second win of the season on the mound, while Dylan Knightly earned his first career save. The meeting was just the second between the programs with each team claiming one victory apiece.

Pomona-Pitzer opened their SCIAC series against Occidental with a 12-1 seven-inning game on Friday afternoon at Alumni Field. The Sagehens had four players with two hits in the win. Isaac Kim went 2-2 with three RBI, George Nahabedian went 2-2 as well with three runs scored and an RBI, William Kinney went 2-3 with three RBI and two runs scored, and Jack Gold went 2-4 with a run scored as well. Jake Hilton got the Friday start and picked up his sixth win of the season to improve to 6-1 on the year with a complete game giving up one unearned run and four hits with six strikeouts. The Sagehen bats took a few innings to get warm but then plated at least one run in each of the final four innings. Greg Pierantoni got the Sagehens on the board in the bottom of the third with an RBI single and then a four-run fourth with RBIs from Matthew Nishimura, Kinney, and Kim extended the lead to 5-0. Pomona-Pitzer came back for four more runs in the bottom of the fifth after an RBI single from Nahabedian, a two-RBI single from Ng, and another RBI single from Kim made it 9-0 through five innings of play. The Sagehens added three runs in the sixth off of a wild pitch and two RBIs from Kinney as the Sagehens run-ruled Occidental to open their three-game SCIAC series.

Eastern Connecticut State used a late rally in the first game as a springboard to a doubleheader sweep of VTSU Castleton, 4-3 and 12-3, in the Little East Conference openers for both teams Friday afternoon at the Eastern Baseball Stadium. In the first game, senior Ryan Parent tied the game with a hard two-out RBI single over second baseman Tyler McLain's leap in the bottom of the eighth, and late-inning senior replacement Tiernan Lynch belted a game-ending sacrifice fly to center in his only at-bat in the tenth for a 4-3 victory. In the nightcap, senior Ray Leonzi drove in four runs with a three-run homer in the first and solo shot in the third (his fourth and fifth HRs of the year) and also tripled and scored leading off the fifth and walked and scored in the seventh. Donahue also smashed a two-run home run in the second (his fourth of the year) and first-year catcher Ian Moser slammed a solo shot leading off the third for his fifth homer of the year.

The 14th-ranked Trinity ( Texas) Tigers opened up a Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference weekend on the road with a 10-4 win over Schreiner University on Friday afternoon. Trinity improved to 13-6 overall and 3-1 in SCAC play, while the Mountaineers fell to 6-15 this season and hold a 1-2 mark in conference action. The Tigers broke the game open with a five-run third inning and led by as much as 9-0 after the sixth. Schreiner added runs in the seventh and ninth innings to avoid the shutout, but the big lead held for the Tigers. Starting pitcher Joseph Chavana improved to 4-0 this season after giving up just two runs on eight hits over his seven-inning appearance. Trajan Lee struck out five batters in the final two innings, allowing two unearned runs on three hits. Jack Peterson paced Trinity's offensive output with a 2-for-5 performance that included three RBI and two runs scored, including his fourth home run this season. Cristian Holloway also went 2-for-5 with two homers and takes the team lead with five roundtrippers this season. Kaleb Woodward also had a double, a triple, and two RBI for the Tigers, while Maddox McDonald went 2-for-3 with two runs scored.

Pitching a complete game shutout for no. 5 East Texas Baptist University, Jagger Neely went nine innings recording eight strikeouts holding down no. 20 University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, 5-0. This is the fifth win this season for ETBU over a ranked opponent and are now 16-5 overall and 7-0 in the ASC. Neely completed the nine-inning game giving up just seven hits and one walk in 33 batters faced. He retired the side in the seventh, eighth, and ninth innings with four of his strikeouts coming during those final three innings. Only in the first and second inning did UMHB have runners make it to second base. After that, no Crusader was ever in scoring position. Dylan Burnaman went 4-for-4 with two runs scored to lead the team in hits. Connor Massimini added two hits and one RBI. Jacob Evangelista then had two RBI. ETBU went up early with three runs in the second inning. Burnaman's single in the inning turned into a throwing error that allowed Hunter Rumachik to score from second base. Evangelista then stepped hitting into a ground out but that allowed Jacob Newland to come in for a 2-0 lead. Massimini then doubled in Burnaman making it 3-0. Five innings went by before ETBU added a run in the eighth inning when Brett Wagner stole home. In the ninth inning, Evangelista doubled in Burnaman for the 5-0 lead.

Chapman fired off seven first-inning runs to outlast Claremont-M-S 11-9 on Friday. After a pair of Stag RBI doubles in the top of the first, Chapman found itself in a 2-0 hole before taking a swing. Well, it didn't matter as the Panthers would tally six hits and eight base runners in the inning, notching a seven-spot on the board. With a 7-2 lead, Chapman looked to put up a zero in the second, but a two-out error and a single to follow put the Stags back within three. The Panthers answered in the bottom half, however, as Josh Phillips scored on a wild pitch, and Brad Lang crossed home on an errand pick-off attempt to first base. The Panthers added another run in the third to take their biggest lead, 10-4. CMS scored five unanswered from that point forward, as Chapman's starting pitcher Colin Godfrey – who earned the win after tossing six innings, allowing six earned – let up a three-run blast to the last batter he faced in the seventh. Upon his departure, Matthew Kuromoto shut the door; a nine-out save gave the freshman the first of his career.

Mitchell College senior Camren Varney allowed just two earned runs across seven and two third innings of work, helping power the Mariners to a 4-3 victory over Saint Joseph's (ME) in the GNAC opener for both ball clubs. Varney gave up just four hits and three walks, striking out five, while junior Jadan Canelli picked up his fourth win of the season in relief, and junior Chris Gibbs recorded his first save of the spring. Micahel Ficocelli finished the day 2-4 with two RBI for Mitchell, while senior Michael Gajda also had two hits, and senior Justin Adorno went 1-4 with one RBI and one run scored.

First-year Garret Wolf had three hits and two RBI in game one, while junior Eli Somers drove home the winning run in game two, as Stevens defeated King's 7-3 after eight innings in game one, and 3-2 after seven innings in game two Friday in a MAC Freedom doubleheader. Sophomore Eric Sibbach (5-1) picked up the victory in game one. He pitched seven innings and gave up just three runs on five hits while striking out six. Senior Axel Johnson pitched the eighth and got through three batters in order. Junior Will Staviski (1-0) earned the win in game two. He pitched one and two-thirds innings and gave up just one hit. Wolf earned the start in game two and allowed four runs on two hits in four and a third innings pitched. Senior Jacob Buurman (1) picked up his 11th career save. The Ducks (12-5, 4-2 MAC Freedom) have now won six games in a row and have won three-straight conference games. Stevens is also now a perfect 6-0 in true road games. The Ducks now sit third in the MAC Freedom standings.

LeTourneau got another outstanding start from Dalton Pickett and the offense rallied the YellowJackets to a 6-4 victory over Howard Payne in the ASC series opener on Friday afternoon. LeTourneau (9-11, 3-4 ASC) has won three straight games. Pickett (2-2) picked up his second win of the year as he went a career-long 8.2 innings and allowed four runs and struck out four. It was his fifth start of at least six innings pitched and the second in which he totaled at least eight innings this season. Pickett nearly had the complete game, but Howard Payne shrunk the lead to 6-3 on Derek Gifford's two-out triple in the ninth. TJ Spitdowski came on and got the final out to record his second save of the year. Zach Zarko went 3-for-4 with a run scored and a stolen base. Dane Jones, Ben Jones, and Nabors each had two hits as LeTourneau totaled 12. Gary Blair (0-4) got the loss for Howard Payne after allowing one earned run in six innings. Derek Gifford had three hits in the loss.

Albertus Magnus drilled four home runs across two games in their Great Northeast Athletic Conference home opener against Norwich, with two coming off the bat of Eric Galarza, and split its doubleheader against the Cadets. The Falcons took the first game, 9-3, before falling, 8-5, in the second. With Albertus nursing a two-run lead in the sixth of game one, Norwich closed the gap to one with back-to-back doubles by Geffen Franus and Jakob Hayes. The Falcons broke the game open with five runs in the seventh ignited by a single to left field Elijah Spataj brought Bobby Arent across the plate and capped off by a DeSanty run scored on a wild pitch. Arent closed out the first game with a home run in the eighth inning. In game two, Albertus opened game two with a solo home run by Elijah Spataj to jump in front, Norwich answered in the top of the second on a two-run shot by Trevor Lussier to take the lead and extended their advantage in the following inning. Things started with back-to-back base hits by O'Connor and Franus before a Carpenter double drove O'Connor home, and a Hayes sacrifice fly plated Franus to put the Cadets up, 5-1. After a two-run shot out of the park by Espada to reduce their deficit to two, the Norwich bats continued to show up across the last four innings.

UW-Eau Claire wrapped up its time at the 2024 RussMatt Invitational with a doubleheader sweep against Keuka College on Friday at Northeast Regional Park. The Blugolds swept the Wolves 7-6 and 5-4 to run their win streak to four games as they head back to Wisconsin. UW-Eau Claire (5-7) held off a late surge from Keuka in Game 1 and mounted a late rally of its own to win Game 2. The Blugolds held on for the win in Game 1 after a three-run homer by Keuka in the bottom of the seventh cut the lead to 7-6. It sealed the first victory of the season for Brennan Cohen, who started on the mound and worked six effective innings. The right-hander allowed three runs — all on one home run — and struck out three while walking one. In game two, Sebastian De La Toba slammed the door to pick up his first career save. James Schutte got his first career victory as a result. He limited the Wolves to two hits and no runs while striking out four in his 5.1 innings.

Senior right-hander Thomas Plunkett fanned a career-high eight batters over five innings of work and Scranton (9-3) used a four-run third inning to pick up a 4-3 victory over the Lycoming Warriors (4-12) on Friday afternoon at Volpe Field in Scranton. Plunkett gave up two runs on three hits while walking three and fanning eight over his 5.0 IP, while senior lefty Mike Fox, junior right-hander Dominic Chieffalo, senior lefty Jason Carpenter and sophomore righty Logan Mason combined to not allow an earned run over the final four innings. Carpenter retired the side in order on just six pitches in the eighth inning and Mason sent the Warriors down in order in the ninth to notch his second save. For Plunkett, his eight punchouts surpassed his previous career-high of six that had been set in a win over Albertus Magnus on Mar. 15, 2022.

Kean blanked the United States Merchant Marine Academy by the final of 8-0 on Friday evening. The Cougars (12-6) scratched across single runs in the second and sixth. Kyle Adorno registered an RBI groundout for the game's first run and later in the sixth Caleb Rodriguez created his own run after singling to get on and then swiping second and third before coming around to score on a Dominic Masino sacrifice. Kean then scored five more in the seventh to open up the contest. In the inning the Cougars collected five hits with Masino driving in two on a single in the gap. The Cougars tacked on one more in the eighth with an RBI single from JT Abrusci. Jason Gilman (2-1) earned the win after tossing six shutout innings, striking out 13 and walking three. He allowed three hits. Rob Salvatore and Nolan Rowan combined for three innings of perfect ball, facing the minimum. Offensively Masino was 2-for-3 with three RBI.

UMass Boston swept the Wolves of Western Connecticut with a 7-2 victory in game two from Monan Park in Boston, Massachusetts following their game one 8-3 victory earlier in the afternoon. The Beacons win the first pair of conference action from the diamond this year, as they improve to 8-7 with the victory. Graduate right-hander Max Moss had himself a day on the bump to start off for UMass. Moss pitched for seven innings, threw for 105 pitches, struck out eight, and walked only one to allow just two runs off six hits in his stretch. In the opener, Sophomore Justin Gouveia led the team in at-bats with five, and recorded an RBI double for his solo hit of the game. Sophomore Breon Parker, and seniors Luke Leavitt and Aidan Blake each went .500 from the batters' box today, as the trio each went 2-4 recording six hits in twelve at-bats, for a combined three RBIs and three runs scored.

Christopher Newport rookie Jacob Koenig hammered a 3-1 pitch into the netting over the left field wall to give the Captains a four-run lead in the bottom of the sixth and the Captains would go on to win, 6-3, in game two of a doubleheader against Piedmont (12-7) on Friday afternoon. Koenig's first career blast was the difference in the second game after CNU suffered a 5-3 loss in game one to split the twin bill on a chilly day at Captains Park against the Lions. In the game two win, senior Jack Braley (2-0) picked up the win while combining with three relievers to limit Piedmont to just three runs, one earned, on seven hits. Christian Williams, Danny Checkosky, and Kyle Lewis came out of the pen and combined to close out the win with 2.2 innings of one-hit, shutout relief.

Keystone opened conference play on Friday afternoon as they hit the road to take on the Highlanders at Cairn. After finding themselves down 2-0 at the end of the second inning, the Giants worked their way back and went home with a one-run victory, 5-4, over the Highlanders. Darren Hagan and Justin Mann each had two hits and two RBI for the Giants. Mann had an RBI single in the third inning to put Keystone on the board, and then brought in another RBI in the seventh inning with a solo home run. Hagan gave the Giants the lead in the top of the sixth inning with a two RBI double down the left field line. Sean Brennan picked up his third win of the season having pitched seven innings in this matchup, striking out 10 batters and giving up zero earned runs. This win moves Brennan to 3-0 on the season.

Millikin senior catcher had three hits and drove in six runs to help the Big Blue post an 11-8 win over Hope College on March 22 at the Workman Family Baseball Field in Decatur, Ill. Trailing 2-1, Millikin rallied for four runs in the fifth inning with the big blow a three-run home run from Janssen to left center field. Liam McGill had an RBI double and Hayden Stork an RBI single in the inning. Leading 7-4, Millikin broke open the game in the bottom of the sixth on a bases clearing triple from Janssen this time hitting the gap in right center field. Janssen would score Millikin's final run on a wild pitch. Hope battled back adding a single run in the eighth and three more in the ninth. Tyler Gade, Kyle Gibson, Tommy Shaw, McGill and Stork each had two hits for Millikin. Drew Sutton was the winning pitcher in relief throwing two and two-thirds innings allowing three hits and two earned runs. Caleb Buehrle pitched the first three innings allowing one hit and striking out three in a tune-up for conference action, which starts on Tuesday. Griffin Neuweg earned his first career save. Brenden Collins had three hits to pace Hope. Al Money had two hits and a three RBI. Jace DeMann also had two hits in the game.

In an attempt to beat out the inclement weather that is supposed to pound the tri-state area on Saturday, Dickinson had their non-conference road doubleheader with The College of New Jersey moved to Friday afternoon at George Ackerman Park. The Red and White had a rough game one falling 9-0, before handing the Lions their first setback of the season 3-2 in game two. In the opener, Dickinson hit some trouble early as TCNJ cruised to the final margin of 9-0. In game two, it started as a pitchers duel as neither allowed any kind of rally to develop keeping the game locked at 2-2 heading to the seventh. With men on the corners for Ryan Thompson, he would not produce a hit, but would have an effective at-bat as he hit into a double-play to drive home Kenny Tagliareni for the 3-2 edge. Joey Sangiuolo was then summoned from the bullpen to begin the eighth and he gave up a single, while inducing a pair of groundouts and a pop-up to allow no damage. He would finish out the save in the ninth by getting Haynes to groundout to second for the final out.

Plattsburgh State split a doubleheader against New Paltz on Friday, clinching a SUNYAC series win. After falling 12-2 in game one, the Card's offense stormed back for a 21-4 win as Kyle Cremin homered twice in game two. The junior also homered in game one and picked up his 100th career hit with a first-inning double, becoming the 20th player in program history to hit the century mark. Cremin became just the 11th player in program history with a multi-homer game, as he hit a dramatic grand slam to take the lead for good in the second and hit a two-run shot in the seventh to help seal the run-rule win.

Cal Lutheran used an offensive explosion and solid pitching performance by Luke Wechsler to take game one of its doubleheader, 15-1, against Pacific Lutheran and rallied in the eighth inning of game two, 8-4, to win both games on Friday afternoon. Luke Wechsler was stellar as he picked up his third win of the season, shutting out the Lutes (6-12) through 5.0 innings of work while striking out five. The Kingsmen (12-5) offense exploded, scoring 13 runs in a three-inning span and combined for 20 hits in the contest. In the nightcap, trailing 4-3 heading into the late innings, the Kingsmen were poised for a comeback. Noah Matsumoto kicked off the eighth inning by reaching on a hit-by pitch and pinch runner Kaden Brennan advanced to third base after an error by the Lutes. Gordon Richardson tied the game up with a sacrifice fly to make it 4-4, but the Kingsmen weren't done. Alec Garcia was hit by a pitch and Josh Quinn doubled to put two runners in scoring position. Lucas Danielewicz gave the Kingsmen their first lead of the game by knocking in Garcia with a sacrifice fly of his own, and then Anderson singled to score Quinn, making it 6-4. Five runs in the second, three in the fourth, five in the seventh, and six in the eighth, plus an outstanding performance from Xavier Sjostedt led Arcadia to a 20-6 series-opening victory over FDU-Florham in Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom play from Skip Wilson Field on Friday afternoon. Anthony Bruno tied the single-game program record for RBI's, bringing home seven runs and falling a triple short of the cycle, tying Connor Cheeseman. Tommy Ajjan got the Knights on the board in the bottom of the second with a single scoring Justin Massielo. Bruno put Arcadia up 5-0 a couple batter later when he launched a grand slam to left bringing in Emilio Pallante, Ajjan, and Eli Savitt. Sot brought home Bruno in the fourth followed by a two-run single from Massielo, increasing the lead to 9-0. FDU-Florham scored twice in the top of the seventh. Bruno hit a three-run double in the seventh, followed by RBI trips to the plate by Sot and Massielo increaing the lead to 14-2. After Arcadia made the score 20-2, the Devils crossed the plate four times in the ninth. Xavier Sjostedt earned his first collegiate win, allowing two runs on eight hits with three walks and four strikeouts across 6.1 innings.
