FARMINGDALE, N.Y. | The Farmingdale State College baseball team swept a home Skyline Conference doubleheader over Yeshiva University on Sunday afternoon, as the Rams (12-9, 5-3 Skyline) held the Maccabees (0-22, 0-16) to one run and seven hits combined over the 14 innings of play.

Game 1

Sophomore right-hander Trevor Diamond (Miller Place, N.Y.) carried a no-hitter into the seventh inning of play for FSC, and faced just one batter over the minimum while issuing one walk and striking out nine YU hitters. The Rams staked Diamond to a three-lead after one inning of play, before adding seven more runs in the second to give the righty a double-digit advantage.

In total, 20 Farmingdale State student-athletes reached safely in the opener, including junior Chris McGuggart (Bethpage, N.Y.), who went 4-for-4 with a double, four runs scored, two driven in and a stolen base. Sophomore Richie Heyder (Holbrook, N.Y.) registered a 3-for-4 performance at the dish with a triple and four RBI, while two-hit outings were recorded by freshman Aidan Mehmel (Mastic Beach, N.Y.; 2 R), and seniors Bobby Pollock (Manorville, N.Y.; 3B, 3 R, 2 RBI), Tyler DiRocco (Commack, N.Y.; 3 RBI, 2 SB), Jordan Lambert (Plainview, N.Y.; 2 RBI) and Daniel Deutsch (Northport, N.Y.; 2 3B, 2 RBI).

Game 2

Four FSC pitchers combined to scatter six Macs hits and a single run in the seventh inning, with the offense setting the tone with a 15-run bottom of the first inning.

Sophomore Greg Friedman (Wading River, N.Y.) finished the game 6-for-8 with a cycle, six runs scored and as many RBI, while senior Daniel Molina (E. Meadow, N.Y.) went a perfect 6-for-6 with seven runs scored. Junior Justin DiMartino (Bethpage, N.Y.) notched a pair of home runs to go with eight RBI, with sophomore John Tardino (Kings Park, N.Y.) finishing a homer shy of the cycle while batting 5-for-7 with three runs scored and five driven in. Junior Ayden Pitt (Floral Park, N.Y.) reached base safely six times on 3-for-4 hitting, three walks, and five RBI, while sophomore Giovanni Cassino (Miller Place, N.Y.; three runs, three RBI) and senior Elian Pimentel (Huntington Station, N.Y.; two 2B, four runs scored) also picked up three-hit outings.

Head coach Keith Osik's Rams continue Skyline play Monday, when they travel to Newburgh, N.Y., for a noon doubleheader at Mount Saint Mary College.
