Worcester State (1-10, 0-0) opens up their conference play today as they welcome the MCLA Trailblazers (3-10, 0-0) in a rescheduled rematch. The Lancers dropped the opener 5-4 and won the nightcap 22-2. In game one, sophomore Nolan Turner came in to close out the seventh but a Trailblazers two run blast to center field would put the Worcester win in jeopardy. Worcester would attempt to at least grab the tying run in the bottom of the seventh but the Trailblazers were able to prevent the Lancers offense from connecting for more clutch runs, with MCLA taking the 5-4 first game victory. Game number two would see junior Mike Bean on the mound working to shut MCLA down which he would find success. The Lancer offensive unit would answer the call in the bottom of the first for an early 3-0 lead. The bottom of the sixth would see the Lancers add an additional five runs to the scoreboard to wrap up their scoring at 22 runs while MCLA would respond with one more run in the top of the seventh before the game was called as a result of darkness.

Making his seventh career start (51st appearance), graduate righty Nathan Furino scattered three hits through his seven-inning stretch, leaving with a 10-0 lead en route to his second win this year in as many decisions and posting his 14th career win in 18 decisions. Furino struck out nine and walked one. Eastern broke a scoreless tie with its five-run fourth inning. The Warriors collected three hits in the inning, with all five runs being driven in by the lower half of the batting order. Maritime's Freddy Forgione – his team's second-leading hitter at .410 -- spoiled Eastern's bid for its second shutout this year when he belted a two-out, solo home run in the eighth – his seventh of the season. Eastern and Maritime entered play sharing seventh place nationally with 29 home runs each.

Houghton Highlanders pulled out two gutsy victories over the Penn State-Du Bois Nittany Lions on Monday afternoon and evening, winning the first in a dramatic comeback fashion, 6-5, before fending off a late PSU rally in a barn-burner slugfest nightcap, 18-16. Trailing, 4-0, the Highlanders exploded for six runs in the top of the seventh to seal the win in the first game. The Highlanders pulled out a barn-burner, in which both teams combined for 41 hits and 34 runs. While Houghton scored in every inning, Du Bois continued to battle all night long, nearly erasing every deficit, but never gaining the lead. The 20 hits in Game #2 are the most in a single game since the Highlanders rapped out 21 in a 21-9 victory over Utica University on May 7, 2021, and the most they have compiled in a seven-inning game since they accumulated 24 hits in a 17-5 win over Delaware Valley College on March 4, 2017. In addition to Jeremy Wilcox's two saves, he went 3-for-6 at the plate with six RBI.

Graduate student Tommy DelVecchio came in relief with the Seahawks (17-2, 4-0 NEWMAC) trailing 3-0 and a runner at third with two outs in the second inning. He got the final out of that frame on a fly to right and went five more innings while facing the minimum number of batters to collect 16 outs. Only one Pride batter, pinch-hitter Nate Garafalo, reached base against DelVecchio, a lead-off single to right in the seventh, but he was erased on a strikeout-throw out caught stealing with a terrific throw from catcher Brady Smolinski. Kyle Carozza pitched the final two frames for his team-leading sixth save of the season. Offensively, Salve Regina began its comeback with a third-inning, two-run homer from second baseman Christian Homa. Homa followed a lead-off single from senior outfielder Brandon Grover with an opposite-field shot, his third homer of the season -- tying him with Grover for the team lead. Graham O'Gorman wasn't fooling around on April 1st on the mound. The junior fired seven shutout innings for Hope College during a 10-0 victory against Trine University in Monday's home opener at Boeve Stadium. The game ended early on the 10-run rule. O'Gorman flashed the pitching form that made him a seven-game winner last season. O'Gorman recorded his longest and best outing this season while tossing a complete-game shutout. The right-hander struck out five while allowing five hits and one walk. The victory secured a three-game series sweep for the Flying Dutchmen (9-10, 3-0 MIAA). "Super excited for him and super excited for us," head coach Stu Fritz said. "He probably didn't have his good stuff to start the season. I think he found it at Millikin [in his last start] and today he was lights out. Confident, the ball came out of his hands was so much better. I hope he's back and ready to roll." The Flying Dutchmen helped O'Gorman against Trine (8-12, 0-3 MIAA) by erasing two baserunners on double plays and throwing out another caught stealing. After the first out of the inning, Malgeri launched the game-winning blast to put the Panthers back in front. The hosts pulled to within one, 12-11, and had the tying run on third base after an error in the bottom of the eighth, but freshman Greg Mayo (Boston, Mass.) got a huge strikeout, then retired the Monks in order in the ninth to earn his first collegiate win.
