Concordia split its doubleheader with St. Scholastica in a twinbill played in River Falls, Wis. due to unplayable field conditions in Duluth. The Cobbers used an 11-hit attack, and the arm of freshman Grant Anderson, to come away with an 8-0 win in the first game but couldn't get back on offensive track in the finale and lost 6-1. UW-La Crosse extended its win streak to four games on Thursday evening as they swept Gustavus Adolphus in a non-conference doubleheader. The Eagles won game on 7-1 and game two 12-9. In the opener, UWL would salt the game away with a four run seventh inning toend the scoring. Caleb Matl came on in relief in the seventh inning for the Eagles and retired the side in order to seal the win for UWL. In the second game, Gustavus would hold a lead into the eighth. In the eighth inning, UWL took its first lead of the game as they scored seven runs on seven hits and an error. The Gusties would get two those runs back as Gavin Baker drove in two runs with a single to make it 12-9 but Alex Redman came on in the ninth and retired the side in order to record his first save of the season. Sophomore Jack Wilson had two hits, including a grand slam home run, and two RBIs, while senior Julian Franks-Pollock added two RBIs, as well, to lead Hampden-Sydney College to a 10-4 Old Dominion Athletic Conference road win at Virginia Wesleyan University on Thursday afternoon in Virginia Beach. Sophomore Sterling Austin gained the pitching victory for the visiting Tigers (10-13, 4-9) against the host Marlins (15-10, 7-4). It was the Garnet & Grey's third win in their last four games. H-SC scored 10 runs on seven hits with two errors. They scored two runs in the second inning, one run each in the fifth and sixth, two runs in the seventh and four runs in the eighth. VWU scored four runs on six hits with one error, scoring two runs each in the third and eighth innings.

Ramapo College earned a 6-3 win over Rutgers-Newark University today in NJAC action. The Roadrunners move to 12-8 overall, 2-1 in the NJAC while the Scarlet Raiders move to 15-8 overall and 0-3 in the conference. Ciani earned the win on the mound for the Roadrunners. In six innings pitched he struck out four, walked one and surrendered just four hits aand two runs (one earned). Billy Scanlon worked two innings and let up no hits and no runs with four strikeouts. Matt Ivaanicki went 2/3 in the ninth and surrendered two hits and one run while Will Paoli earned the save in relief as he induced a flyout to end the game. The Roadrunners belted out 13 hits in the game as they were led by John Higgins who finished 3-5 at the plate.

In a tense pitching duel, North Park clinched a hard-fought 3-2 victory over North Central, propelled by stellar pitching and timely offensive contributions. The Vikings move to 2-0 in the CCIW, remaining the last league team with an unblemished CCIW record. Junior center fielder Alex DiVito ignited the North Park offense with a one-out single to right field.
This set the stage for junior designated hitter Nate Sommerfeld to drive in the opening run with a sharp sac fly to center field, bringing in DiVito. Sommerfeld played hero again, knocking in the pair on a single to center field to put the Vikings ahead 3-0 through five. CUC was able to score two in the seventh but this was no matter to Ethan Condit who closed out the game, earning his second save of the year through three innings of work and four strikeouts.

St. Olaf College made it back-to-back sweeps to open Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play with 6-3 and 13-1 road victories over Augsburg University on Thursday at Parade Stadium. After a slow start offensively in game one, St. Olaf (13-8, 4-0 MIAC) tallied 19 runs on 29 hits to sweep Augsburg (3-13, 0-4 MIAC) for the fourth time in five doubleheaders dating back to 2019. Coupled with Tuesday's sweep of Concordia-Moorhead, the wins gave the Oles their first 4-0 start in conference play since 2019. Junior Evan Hammonds was 6-for-10 with a double, two runs scored, a stolen base and five RBI on the day to help St. Olaf hit .382 (29-for-76) in the twin bill. The Oles were 20-for-48 (.417) with runners on base in the two wins. St. Olaf's pitching staff allowed just two earned runs over 16.0 innings to post a 1.12 ERA and has yielded just 15 runs over the team's last eight games.

Coe College won its sixth American Rivers Conference game on Thursday afternoon at Central, defeating the Dutch 8-1 in the road matchup. Coe continued its strong start to the conference season thanks to an excellent pitching performance from freshman Jack Walsh. The Dubuque native secured his fourth win of the season with his best start in Crimson and Gold, pitching six scoreless innings with nine strikeouts and just two hits. Walsh was well supported by his offense, totaling 12 hits for its second straight double-digit hit performance. Reid Rausch belted a homer for the second game in a row, totaling three RBI and two runs in the victory. Jon Wille, who started the scoring with a three-run double in the third, extended his hitting streak to eight games.

U.S. Merchant Marine Academy eked out a 9-7 home win over non-conference opponent CCNY on Thursday night at Bartoszek Field. The Mariners' fourth-straight victory improves their record to .500 at 8-8, while the Beavers fall to 5-14 in defeat. The game had a great pace to it, as it was a close 2-1 contest into the sixth inning. Then the seventh inning happened. The entire inning wound up taking nearly an hour to play. CCNY scored six unearned runs thanks to three Merchant Marine errors and took a 7-1 lead. USMMA tied the game right back up with two in the bottom of the seventh after freshman Frank Ruepp scored on a wild pitch and then Leatherwood hit a sacrifice fly that brought in senior Tyler Reistetter to make it 7-7. After a 1-2-3 top of the eighth inning by sophomore Eddie Lippert, the Mariners went back ahead 9-7. Sophomore Caden Pierce allowed a lead-off single in the top of the ninth, but quickly induced a 6-4-3 double play followed by a game-ending ground out to third to earn his third save of the season.

Junior Raiden Yost fired seven innings of scoreless ball and four Rangers combined on a four-hit shutout as Drew won its sixth game in a row with a 9-0 victory over John Jay in a non-conference tilt Thursday afternoon. It was the second straight clean sheet for the Rangers (13-7), who have now tossed 25 consecutive scoreless innings.Yost (3-1) worked the longest outing of his collegiate career and struck out a career-high eight. He walked just one yielded only three hits. Seven pitchers combined to hold the Hornets to two runs as Randolph-Macon posted a 5-2 ODAC victory at No. 17 Lynchburg on Thursday afternoon. The Hornets had six hits over the first three innings but stranded four and managed just one run in the bottom of the first. RMC would take its first lead in the fith and grew the advantage to 3-1 in the seventh. Lynchburg pulled within one but a two-out rally in the eighth finished the scoring in the Jacket's advantage. The Hornets put two on with one away in the bottom of the eighth, but McAuley rolled a double play to end the inning. Junior Sam Slevin pitched a scoreless ninth to earn his fifth save.

After being down by one entering the final frame, senior Zac Malis provided the fireworks for Washington University as Malis welcomed a two-run, walk-off, homer to lift the Bears past Fontbonne University, 5-4, Thursday. With Malis' heroics, WashU's record climbed to 18-9, while the Griffins' record slipped to 8-16. Both programs recorded nine hits apiece. Malis led the way with his 3-for-4, two RBI showing. Graduate student Sam Polk notched a pair of hits in the win. Junior Sebastian Guzman earned the start on the bump for the Bears. Guzman fired 4.2 innings and allowed five hits. Guzman's 11 strikeouts, which set a new career-high, fell four short of the WashU record. Guzman took the no decision in the contest. First year Zach Pearl secured the win after pitching a scoreless ninth.

Transylvania continued their hot streak as they defeated Spalding 7-4 to move to 18-5 on the season. The win splits the season series with the Golden Eagles. Drew Bowles earned his third win of the season. He pitched six innings and gave up four runs on six hits while striking out five batters.D own two runs in the top half of the seventh, Transylvania would score four runs on four hits to take a 6-3 lead. Austin Taylor ripped a base hit down the left field line to score Calvin Schubert, and Walter Munday would give Transy its first lead of the game with a two-run triple to center field. Transylvania would add the insurance run in the eighth on an error by Spalding on Austin Taylor's second hit of the game. Transylvania's bullpen held their own in the win. Camryn Warfield, Gabe Dillard, and Matt Armstrong held Spalding scoreless in the final three innings, and allowed only one hit. Armstrong would earn his seventh save of the season. Chase Gartner and Austin Taylor led the Pioneers with two hits each. The Pioneers had ten hits on the evening.

Knocking off their first ranked opponent since 2023, Washington and Lee University used a four-run fourth inning to take down seventh-ranked Shenandoah University 7-4 in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference midweek game on Thursday. In their previous meeting on March 13, then No. 1-ranked Shenandoah downed the Generals 8-6 in extra innings in Lexington with a two-run home run from Gavin Horning. Ethan Zulueta was 3-for-4 (.750) with a double and one walk, extending his hitting streak to 17 games. Drew Larsen led the team with three RBIs with a 2-for-5 (.400) effort at the plate with a two-run home run in the first inning. John Benner (2-2) picked up his second win of the season, allowing four runs (three earned) on four hits with three strikeouts in 5.1 innings of work. Ben Sundell earned his first save of the season, pitching 3.2 shutout innings while retiring five batters including two in the final frame. The Hornets dropped their fourth straight game as they fell to 18-7 on the season and 7-5 in ODAC play. Brody Pickette led the SU offense with a 2-for-4 (.500) effort at the plate with one RBI.

Hamline University's 2024 home opener pitted them against Macalester at CHS Field on Thursday afternoon. Hans Christensen V registered nine strikeouts over seven innings on the mound in game one, which highlighted the Pipers' 2-1 victory. Hamline secured the doubleheader sweep with a 4-0 shutout in game two. Christensen V allowed just four hits, one run, and one walk in a complete-game victory. Both teams combined for seven hits in the contest, three of which belonged to Hamline courtesy of Max Gerstner's triple, and a single from Caden Erickson and Nick Zezulka. Tyler Johnson paced the Pipers with a 4-for-4 outing in game two that included two doubles, while Gerstner went 2-for-4 with a sacrifice fly. Parker Leipzig picked up the pitching win for Hamline. He allowed five hits and notched three strikeouts over 5 1/3 innings. Josh Cary and Dalton Maxwell combined to strikeout four and allow three hits in relief.

No. 20 Montclair State University used a late-inning surge to top William Paterson 8-5 on Thursday afternoon. The Red Hawks (20-4, 2-1 NJAC) fell behind in the second inning as the Pioneers plated five runs. After battling back for a tied game, Montclair loaded the bases in the eighth, and Zach Stearns doubled to right field to drive in two runners to give the Red Hawks their first lead of the contest. Miles Feaster singled to right field during the next at-bat to bring home the final marker of the afternoon. Feaster finished with a game-high three hits and three RBI. It marked his third game this season with three or more hits and tied his season-high for runs batted in. Montclair is 54-11 at Yogi Berra Stadium since the 2020 season. They have outscored opponents 107-65 at home during the 2024 campaign. The Red Hawks have claimed the last four meetings against the Pioneers at Yogi Berra Stadium.
