In their final non-conference contest of the season, Heidelberg University walloped the Manchester Spartans, 10-0. The Student Princes pounded out 15 hits while Dylan Matusak, Logan Franz and Orion Kroah limited Manchester to four hits.

St. Olaf College locked up an outright Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference regular-season title with a 12-1 victory in game one before Hamline University took game two by a 7-2 margin on Wednesday at Mark Almli Field. With at least a share of the title already secured, St. Olaf (26-11, 16-2 MIAC) entered the day needing one win or one loss by Saint John's University in the final four games to claim the title outright and got the job done behind a complete game from senior Sam Lavin in the opener against Hamline (15-22, 7-11 MIAC). The Pipers scored runs in three consecutive innings in the middle innings to gain a sweep in game two to hand the Oles just their second MIAC loss of the season and their first loss in 11 home games this spring. The MIAC regular-season title is the 18th in program history for St. Olaf and its first since 2007. Sixteen of the Oles' 18 conference crowns have come outright. The game-one win also clinched the No. 1 seed for St. Olaf in the upcoming MIAC Playoffs.

Washington & Jefferson secured a non-conference doubleheader sweep Wednesday afternoon over the visiting Otterbein University Cardinals in Washington at Ross Memorial Park. The wins improve the Presidents to 27-11 overall. Otterbein, who is ranked fourth in the Region VII rankings, drops to 25-12 overall. Brendan Cruz picked up the win for the Presidents to improve to 3-1. Brandon Bastian came in for the final three innings to record his second career save. Bastian struck out four, did not issue a walk and allowed no runs during a strong showing on the mound. Junior pitcher Nate Hess would collect his first collegiate win in the outing. Hess tossed 1.1 innings of scoreless relief. Alex Tomsic started and tossed three scoreless innings to open game two. Ethan Boring worked a clean ninth to finish out the victory.

No. 1 nationally ranked Endicott picked up a non-conference road win at MIT on Wednesday afternoon, 9-2. The Gulls jumped on the Engineers with a five-run second inning and didn't look back the rest of the way. Charlie Hale contributed another solid start in his stellar freshman season, limiting the Engineers to just a run in his six innings of work. he turned the ball over to Brady Stuart, who closed out the last three innings and featured a line of one earned run, two hits allowed, no walks, and five strikeouts. The sophomore right-hander also earned his second career save with the three-inning effort (first this season).

Keystone traveled down to Aston, Pennsylvania for one last non-conference game in the regular season. In this game, Keystone came out on top with a final score of 8-5. The Giants jumped ahead in the third inning of this one when Robert Estrada picked up one RBI on a single up the middle, and Justin Mann picked up two more with a double down the left field line. Bobby Pokorney also picked up an RBI single in the fourth, and Hunter Rauch earned one from a sacrifice fly to right field in the ninth. Slothing Che got the start for Keystone on the mound and struck out three batters in two innings while allowing zero runs. Drew Sorrentino came in to pitch in the third and was credited with the win for this game, moving his record to 3-0 on the season.

Bethel extended their winning streak to eight games this afternoon with a doubleheader sweep, 5-0 and 9-6, of the Saint Scholastica Saints. John Solfest took the mound in the opener Tossing a seven inning complete game shutout, allowing four hits, two walks and striking out four for his fifth win of the season. The Royals won game one by a final score of 4-0. The Royals jumped out to a 5-0 lead in game two, with a five run second, capped off with a three-run home run to right off the bat of Matthew Carlsen. The Saints tied the game at five in the fifth. Bethel regained the lead with a three run bottom of the fifth winning by a final score of 9-6. Earning the sweep and improving their record to 21-13 and 13-7 in the MIAC.

Sophomore Carter Schmitt (Glen Allen, Va./St. Christopher's) belted a grand slam with two away in the sixth to erase a 4-3 deficit as 20th-ranked Randolph-Macon rallied past No. 10 Christopher Newport 8-4 on Wednesday afternoon to conclude its regular season. The Yellow Jackets are 24-0 when leading after seven innings. Six Yellow Jacket pitchers combined to record 13 strikeouts. With his grand slam, Schmitt has taken over the team lead with 10 multiple RBI games. He has reached base in 19 straight games.

Nick Holm and Hunter Klingelhoffer combined for two home runs and four RBIs in Linfield's 5-4 Northwest Conference victory over Pacific on Wednesday evening at Roy Helser Field. With the win, the 'Cats are in the driver's seat for a conference tournament berth after winning the series over Pacific. Holm extended his NWC game-hitting streak to 15 with the home run. Camden Oram went four and two-thirds innings as the Linfield starter, giving up four earned runs while striking out six Pacific batters. Brian Mannion (3-2) earned the win after throwing an inning and a third in relief work. Elijah Maris led the Wildcats (19-20, 12-12 NWC) in hits and runs with two each. CJ Colyer mashed his 17th home run on the season and led the Boxers with two RBIs on the day. Matt Gibbs tallied two hits for Pacific (22-14, 10-11 NWC). Colyer (3-1) went four and two-thirds innings as the starter and was charged with the loss. Pacific and Linfield finished even in hits with seven.

Sam Gossard homered in each contest as the Carleton College baseball team split a pair of games – both with wild finishes — against Gustavus Adolphus College. The Knights lost the opener, 8-6, then hung on to win game two by an 8-7. Toeing the rubber for the first time in over two weeks due to an ankle injury, righthander Ryan Antrim tossed a career-high 8.0 innings in the second contest and picked up his first career victory. "I'm really proud of the way we competed throughout the conference season," said Carleton head coach Alec Holcomb. "It was an awesome last start of his Knights' career by Ryan (Antrim) and a couple huge swings by Gossard. We're excited to finish the season strong on Friday at home for Senior Day!"

Hobart sophomore second baseman Christian Petry recorded a game-high four hits, but the Statesmen struggled to slow down Oswego State. The Lakers tallied 17 hits and scored a 15-7 win over the Statesmen at McDonough Park tonight. Three Lakers finished the game with three hits apiece. Greg Carullo was 3-for-4 with a double, three RBIs and two runs scored. Dylan Rosenberg had two singles and a double, three runs scored and two RBIs. Daniel Winchester had three singles and scored twice. Owen Parliament hit a solo home run in the first inning and Jacob Levine added a two-run shot in the third. The Lakers (20-12) broke the game open with five runs in the top of the fifth. Parliament's two-run single to center made it a 12-5 game. Oswego used three pitchers in the game with Larry Citrola (2-2) earning the win and Mason Sands pitching the final 3 2-3 innings for the save.

Millikin rallied from a 7-0 deficit to defeat North Central College 9-7 on May 1 in Naperville, Illinois in an important College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin road contest. The win was Millikin's ninth straight win and improved the Big Blue's record to 25-12 overall and 15-3 in CCIW play. Millikin has two conference games remaining and it's in first place by percentage points over North Park who is 14-3 in conference action. Millikin had 13 hits in the game with five players collecting two hits including Tyler Gade, Shaw, Janssen, Andy Neibrugge and Kameron Ross. Nash Mose was credited with the win and Caleb Buehrle pitched the final two innings for the save. Henry Saul had three hits to lead North Central. John Michael Scumaci had a double and triple and drove in three runs. Jack Oberli added two hits and two RBI.

Nichols College scored six runs in the first two innings and didn't look back as they cruised to a 7-3 win over Wesleyan University on Wednesday afternoon from the Nichols Baseball Field. The Bison have won eight straight games for the first time all season. Senior Andrew Croteau led the way for the Bison, going 3-4 and adding two RBI. Teammate Ben Jerome also added two RBI and so did sophomore Liam Flynn. Senior Johnny Knox topped another category in the record book, as he hit his 68th hit of the season. This passed Cam Cook, who set the record in 2016 with 67 hits.

The UW-Stout Blue Devils split a pair of seven-inning non-conference games with Northland College in their home finale at Nelson Field Wednesday afternoon. Riley Boushack, Jake Thomas and Jacoby Endreas all hit three home runs in a 4-1 win in game one. Late runs lifted Northland to a 7-5 win over the Blue Devils in game two.

Nationally 24th-ranked Cortland registered 20 hits, including three homers, in an 8-2 non-league win at Cobleskill. The Red Dragons improved to 25-10-1 with the victory. Five players accounted for 17 of Cortland's 20 hits. Mitchell Kelly went 4-for-5 with a homer, double, RBI and two runs and Chris Bonacci went 4-for-6 with an RBI. Nolan Smith and Dylan Mackenzie each finished 3-for-4 with a homer. Smith drove in two runs and scored twice. Zachary Kringdon was 3-for-5 iwth a double, RBI and two runs. Also for the Red Dragons, Nick Chemotti finished 2-for-5 with an RBI and Luke Schartner was 1-for-4 with a walk. Mat Bruno had his 19-game hitting streak snapped as he finished 0-for-5 with a sac bunt in six plate appearances.

A three-run seventh inning broke a six-all tie and Scranton (27-10, 16-7 Landmark) notched a 9-7 victory over the Wilkes Colonels (21-16, 11-13 Landmark) on Wednesday afternoon at Bruggeworth Field in Wilkes-Barre. The game was suspended due to inclement weather on Tuesday with the Royals leading 6-5 in the fifth. Scranton has now secured a top-three seed in next weekend's Landmark Conference Tournament that will be held May 10-12 at Volpe Field. Senior lefty Jason Carpenter earned the win in relief as he allowed just one unearned run on three hits while walking two and fanning four over 3 2/3 IP. Graduate student righty Hunter Ralston allowed a run in the ninth, but kept Wilkes at bay over the final six outs to notch his second save.

SUNY New Paltz returned home Wednesday, taking on Mount Saint Mary College in its final home game of the season on Loren Campbell Memorial Field. After ending its weekend series against league leader SUNY Cortland with a game three win, the Hawks looked to close out its home schedule with a win in front of the SUNY New Paltz faithful. With strong pitching in relief from freshman Dylan Hayes and three home runs hit, the Hawks coasted to an 18-5 victory and improved their record to 23-13 overall, marking the most wins in program history.

Allegheny traveled north to Hamburg, N.Y. to face Hilbert in a nonconference doubleheader Wednesday , picking up a sweep of the Hawks. The Gators took game one 10-6 and game two 12-6. The Gators got to work quickly for a 3-0 lead in the opener. Allegheny tacked on seven more runs in the second off of seven hits. The Hawks fought back, putting up six runs in the final five innings, but it was not enough to overcome the early Allegheny lead. The Gators struck first once again in game two and despite losing the lead breifly, held on to an advantage most of the game. The Hawks added one more run in the sixth, but it was not enough to overcome the Allegheny lead.

Senior shortstop Zach Donahue drove in the 100th run of his career and senior leftfielder Josh Confrancesco recorded the 100th hit of his career to help power No. 23 Eastern Connecticut State University to 16-9 non-conference win over Western New England University Wednesday afternoon at Trelease Park. With both Eastern (25-11) and Western New England (19-17) facing key doubleheaders in their respective conferences this weekend, neither used a top-line pitcher among the seven that each team employed. Donahue reached safely in his 30th consecutive game, getting aboard four times with two doubles, a single and walk, driving in four runs and scoring two. Cofrancesco's third hit of the day – a single to center with one out in the ninth -- represented the 100th hit of his career. He also drove in a run with a single in an eight-run fourth and plated two with a single in a four-run seventh. Donahue and Cofrancesco were among five players with three hits.

USMMA scored eight runs in the middle innings to down visiting Albertus Magnus College, 9-3, on Wednesday night at Bartoszek Field in the Mariners' final non-conference game of the season. The victory improved Merchant Marine's record to 23-13, while the Falcons fell to 11-22 with the loss. The Mariners trailed 3-2 after Albertus Magnus scored two runs in the top of the fifth, but answered right back by scoring seven runs over the bottom of the fifth and sixth combined. They were led by junior Garrett Clapsaddle, who finished the night going 2-for-5 at the plate with the go-ahead three-RBI double in the fifth inning to go along with a two-out, two-RBI single in the sixth that helped extend the USMMA lead. Classmate Jack Millen opened the scoring on the night with a solo home run down the left field line to lead off the bottom of the first, but the Falcons answered right back in the top of the second. Millen went 3-for-5 with the homer and two runs scored. Freshman Tommy Chiappetti had a team-best four hits with a double and two runs and junior Travis Leatherwood finished 3-for-5 with a double and one RBI.

Saint John's (Minn.) split with Macalester but secured its 14th-consecutive trip to the MIAC Tournament on Wednesday, May 1, at Division II Concordia-St. Paul. SJU (23-13, 12-6 MIAC) countered four Macalester (9-29, 3-17 MIAC) home runs with two of its own and scored all eight runs with two outs in an 8-6 win in game one. The Johnnies, however, managed only four hits to the Scots' 12 in a 3-2 loss – their fifth one-run defeat of the season – in the nightcap. Despite the game-two loss, the Johnnies clinched the postseason berth thanks to Carleton's 8-7 win today at Gustavus Adolphus to split their doubleheader in St. Peter. The Knights took an 8-3 lead into the bottom of the ninth and held on with the bases loaded. The Johnnies batted only .197 (12-for-61) in the doubleheader, including 2-for-18 (.111) with runners in scoring position and 5-for-26 (.192) with runners on base. SJU went 1-for-12 with runners on base and 0-7 with runners in scoring position in game two alone.
