Dippner named head coach at Thomas

Waterville, ME – Current Assistant Coach of Thomas College's NCAA Baseball team, Rob Dippner, has been named the new NECBA Head Baseball Coach at Thomas College as of May 13th.

Vice President of Intercollegiate Athletics, Christopher Parsons recently announced the addition of the club in hopes to grow the community, give students a place to build connections, and enrich experiences on campus. "Providing mentorship and guidance for our students is extremely important, especially now, as students face mental health challenges greater than ever before. The addition of these new programs will help support that" stated Parsons.

"I am excited this team will allow student-athletes the opportunity to play a sport they have loved since they were little kids" stated Rob Dippner "This team will provide opportunities and help build relationships and connections on and off the field".

Pennsylvania native, Dippner, is a member of the newly appointed baseball coaching staff here at Thomas, working closely with Head Coach Ray Bernier since the fall of 2023. After moving to Maine in 2020, Dippner served as the Varsity Baseball Assistant at Mt. Blue High School for one year before becoming the team's head coach the past three seasons. Dippner will continue his role as assistant coach on the NCAA Baseball team while leading the NECBA team simultaneously.

Dippner described his coaching style as a "players coach", wanted to building relationships and connections with players, while at the same time growing their knowledge and skill of baseball. He is looking forward to team members coming in setting goals, meeting goals, and forming bonds that carry on for a lifetime.
