It was a first for Misericordia, for a team from the Keystone State and a team from the MAC conferences as the Cougars earned the 2024 Walnut anf Bronze for baseball.

Misericordia ran away with the National Trophy last year as East Lake opened the Ohio Chapter of the DIII World Series. The time is short for those teams in Ohio to get their fans a short commute because the DIII World Series moves east to York, Pennsylvania in 2027. Repeating is a rarity and for Misericordia, it will be harder with a lot of the pieces that delivered in 2024 are not on the roster in 2025.

Among the teams that made the trip to Ohio in late May, UW-Whitewater, Endicott and Salve Regina are easy picks to come back. Lynchburg, Pomona-Pitzer and Randolph-Macon all have significant pieces back and they could easily make it a second time to Classic Park in East Lake. One team we will not be seeing is Birmingham-Southern. The Campus closed their campus while the Panthers were on the road.

Johns Hopkins will be a sentimental favorite to make the series as their long-time head coach, Bob Babb announced that 2025 will be his last year and the Blue Jays want to make this a special season for him. Baldwin Wallace, Denison, East Texas Baptist and Salisbury are also high on lists of teams that should excel this year. You know that the tournament organizers would love to see both Baldwin Wallace and Denison in the field and the crowds that they will bring.
