Teams rack up double digit runs on Thursday

Thanks to some solid pitching and late-inning runs, TCNJ picked up their second win of the year on the road against Wilkes. Ryan Greenstein had a solid outing on the mound as the Lions' starter, recording three strikeouts and giving up just one hit in four shutout innings. He was replaced in the fifth inning by Owen Hoffman, who was eventually credited with the win for TCNJ (2-2).

Swarthmore powered its way past Eastern University, 13-2, on Thursday afternoon. The Garnet offense totaled 11 hits and 11 walks in a lopsided victory. Aidan Sullivan was busy on the base paths, recording four hits, three RBI, and a run scored. Brad Johnston added three RBI of his own, highlighted by a first-inning home run. In total, eight different players drove in at least one run for Swarthmore. Noah Potholm set the tone on the rubber, tossing five innings with one earned run and four strikeouts in a winning effort. Peter Frometa and Sullivan combined for two scoreless, with Sullivan striking out the side in the seventh.

On Thursday afternoon, fifteenth-ranked Messiah used multiple big innings to defeat the Royals of Eastern Mennonite, 17-1 for their first win of the 2026 season. After a scoreless first inning, the Falcons scored four in the second to take a 4-0 lead. The Falcons continued to bring in runs with another four spot in the third to extend their lead to 8-0. After the Royals scored a run in the bottom of the third, the Falcons scored five runs in the fourth to extend their lead to 13-1. The Falcons scored four more runs in the fifth and after a scoreless bottom half, the game was called due to darkness, and the Falcons earned the 17-1 win. David Martinez led the Falcons with three hits and four RBIs. Nick Moyer totaled two hits, two RBIs, and four runs scored. Brayden Burkholder and Drew Hurst each tallied two hits and an RBI. Devin Aponte pitched five innings in his first career start with five hits allowed, one earned run, three walks, and five strikeouts.

Bethel (Minn.) opened their 2026 season with a 20-3 victory over Crown in game one. The Royals led 13-1 through the fourth inning of game two, which was suspended due to time constraints and will be finished at a later date. Every inning outside the first resulted in a run for the Royals, which included a nine-run fourth. Oran Hinkle and Hayden Bradford each went 2-for-3 with two runs scored. Hinkle also drove in a pair of runs. Carson Christianson registered a 2-for-4 outing that included a double, five RBI, and two runs scored. Scoring a team-leading three runs was Ben Trucke, who went 2-for-3. The Bethel pitching staff accumulated 14 strikeouts and allowed just five Crown hits. Caden Esquerra finished 2-for-4 with one RBI for the Polars.

Third time's the charm! Keystone erupted for 16 runs on 10 hits Thursday morning, cruising past Hanover, 16-4, in a seven-inning contest in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Hanover had won the previous two meetings this season. Keystone (2-2) wasted no time setting the tone, plating three runs in the top of the first inning. The Giants added two more runs in the second and broke the game open in the fourth inning. The big hit came off the bat of Dante Ruby. The third baseman crushed a three-run homer to left field, to push the lead to 9-0. Keystone put the finishing touches on the win with a six-run seventh inning. Hanover mounted a small rally in the bottom of the seventh, scoring three runs on a groundout, a sacrifice fly, and an RBI single, but it wasn't enough to overcome the early deficit. Dee Rice finished 2-for-3 with two RBI and three runs scored, while Ruby drove in three runs on his home run. On the mound, Luke Baker earned the win, tossing 6.2 innings while allowing two hits and four runs with six strikeouts and four walks. Brandon Valles recorded the final out in relief to secure the victory.

FDU-Florham continues their hot streak with a 13-10 win against Penn State Berks making them 3-0 to start the season. Senior Nicholas Colbert had a monster day at the plate, going 5-5 with two doubles, three RBIs, and one stolen base. Senior Ryan Johnston found success against the Nittany Lions, going 3-5 with one RBI and one run scored. Junior Tommy Sica and first year Christian Zamrock each tallied two hits and two runs scored, with Zamrock contributing one RBI as well. First year Alex Hart got his first collegiate appearance and win for the Devils, posting three innings worth of work and only allowing two runs off four hits.
