Tarpcon: What's the tarp condition?

If you've followed any of D3baseball.com's Division III World Series coverage, you may have heard the term "Tarpcon." Tarpcon is short for "Tarp Condition" and the scale mimics the Defcon system which you may be familiar with from movies such as War Games

It's fairly simple -- five levels which quickly and easily let you know whether conditions are conducive for baseball. Here's how it shakes out. Like the Defcon system, the higher the number, the better off we all are:

Tarpcon 5

Clear sky, clear radar

Tarpcon 4

Clear sky, but the radar threatens

Tarpcon 3

Clouds in the sky at the stadium, but not raining

Tarpcon 2

Rain is falling, or the grounds crew is standing at the ready

Tarpcon 1

Tarp is on the field
