GREENSBORO, N.C.  – No. 3/6 Shenandoah University wrapped up its third straight USA South Conference baseball sweep Sunday afternoon with a 14-3 victory over Greensboro College.

Shenandoah (13-0, 6-0 USA South) scored at least one run in every inning except the second on its way to the win over the Pride (9-11, 2-4).

SU scored its initial run in the first when Kevin Brashears singled to right, stole second and moved to third as GC catcher Josh Powell threw the ball into centerfield on the steal attempt.

Brashears' fellow All-America, Greg Van Sickler, then drove Brashears home on a groundout to short.

In the third, Brashears recorded an RBI of his own, plating Tucker Brown with a single to center.

Brown had reached on a two-base error and was sacrificed to third.

The eventual game-winning run came in a three-run fourth. Nick Beall and Jake Pendergraft both walked to lead off the frame with Beall coming home on a Keaton Neeb infield single and Pendergraft when senior Mike Smith lofted a sacrifice fly to center.

Sophomore Vince Claudio (2-0) earned his second win of the spring after giving up two runs (one earned) on four hits and three walks in 5 1/3 innings.

Bryce Sears worked the next 1 1/3 before Bobby Stefanowicz, Ben Hendrickson and Kyle Scallion closed out the Pride.

Jacob Cadle was tagged with the loss – he allowed six runs (three earned) on five hits and three walks in 4.0 innings.

Brashears finished the day 3 for 4 with three RBI and Neeb 2 for 4 with two runs batted in.
