Union, N.J. (3/3/12) – Junior Kevin Herget took a no-hitter into the ninth inning before surrendering a single, the only one of the afternoon, as the Kean University baseball team blanked the College at Brockport, 6-0, Saturday afternoon.

Senior Corey Booth broke up the no-no with one out in the ninth inning with a soft liner into right field.  Herget (2-0) struck out eight and allowed three walks as he helped the #3 Cougars to their fifth win of the season.

The Cougars scratched across a single run in their first at-bat and would give themselves some breathing room in the third with three more.  In the third, sophomore Shane Alvarez reached on a single and would later steal both second and third.  Senior Steve Sanguiliano would then drive in two with a single up the middle, scoring Alvarez and Lopez, who reached on a fielder's choice.  Later in the frame, Sanguiliano would score off an RBI single by sophomore Joe O'Connor

Kean tacked on two more in the bottom of the seventh as Sanguiliano produced another two RBI single.

Sanguiliano was 3-for-4 with four RBI while Alvarez was 3-for-3 with three runs scored and four stolen bases.  His four stolen bases tie a single-game standard.

Senior Aaron Tilley suffered the loss for the Golden Eagles, their first of the season.  He allowed four runs, three earned, with eight hits in five innings of work.
