Winter Haven, Fla. - Freshman Brian Wolfe (La Habra, Calif.) went 4-for-7 in two games to lead the Trinity College Bantams to a 5/2-2/7 doubleheader split against the Endicott College Gulls in RussMatt Central Florida Baseball Invitational action this afternoon. Trinity moves to 1-3, while the Gulls fall to 4-6.
Trinity sophomore RHP Ryan Carr (Cos Cob, Conn.) struck out five and allowed three hits and one run over 4.1 innings to earn the win in the first game, while senior righty Ed Donovan (Milton, Mass.) did not allow a hit over eight outs of relief work to record a save. Bantam junior Joe Papa (Stoneham, Mass.) accounted for all of Trinity's runs with five RBI including four on a grand slam. Trinity senior tri-captain 1B Kevin Mortimer (Spencer, Mass.) went 2-for-2 with a double in the win, while sophomore RHP Peter Burrows (Floral Park, N.Y.) took the loss in the nightcap.
