Farmingdale, N.Y. - Freshman Matthew Zsevc's (Westbury, N.Y.) two out RBI single in the bottom of the tenth inning leads the Rams to a 4-3 non-conference victory over Stevens today in Farmingdale, N.Y. Farmingdale State improves to 8-6 with the win, while the Ducks fall to 11-7 on the year.

Trailing 2-0 in the top of the sixth, senior designated hitter TJ Alcorn (Turnersville, N.J.) and freshman center fielder Brian Hennelly (Holbrook, N.Y.) hit back-to-back RBI singles for Stevens to tie the game at 2-2. 

Senior second baseman Tom Phillips (Spring Lake, N.J.) put the Ducks ahead 3-2 in the seventh with an RBI single to left center scoring freshman shortstop Marc Calleo (Bayville, N.Y.) who led off the inning with a bunt single. 

The Rams tied the game in the bottom of the ninth as junior first baseman Ron Remi (Massapequa, N.Y.) scored on a passed ball.

Farmingdale State second baseman Thomas Rydzewski (Franklin Square, N.Y.) led off the tenth inning with a double down the right field line. Rydzewski then advanced to third base on a balk before scoring on Zsevc's walk-off RBI single to center.

Junior left fielder David Zilnicki (Riverhead, N.Y.) had a team-high three hits and an RBI, while Rydzewski and freshman shortstop Anthony Alvino (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) were each 2-for-5 with a run scored for the Rams. Senior third baseman Ryan McAllister (Miller Place, N.Y.) was 2-for-4 at the plate with a run scored.

Freshman starting pitcher Connor Henson (Huntington, N.Y.) threw 5.2 innings allowing one earned run on five hits. Senior C.J. Bula (Mohegan Lake, N.Y.) pitched a scoreless tenth inning and earned the victory.

Stevens was led by Philips who was 3-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored.

Farmingdale State will travel to NYU-Poly for a Skyline doubleheader on Saturday, March 24th at noon.
