FORT MYERS, Fla. – The Nichols College baseball team completed an 11-game slate at the Gene Cusic Collegiate Classic on Friday.  The Bison were blanked by Wooster, 7-0, on Thursday before taking Minnesota-Morris to extras for a 7-6 victory and ending the trip with a 13-8 setback to the Cougars on Friday.
 
Wooster 7, Nichols 0
 
Seniors Kyle Russell (W. Yarmouth, Mass.) batted 2-for-3 and John Micciche (Holbrook, Mass.) went 2-for-4 at the plate. Sophomore Collin Geagan (Watertown, Mass.) fell to 0-2 on the season as he surrendered six runs – two earned – on six hits and struck out six batters in six innings of work. Senior Ray Curto (Braintree, Mass.) allowed one run on one hit and struck out two in the final two innings for the Bison.
 
Nichols 7, Minn.-Morris 6 (8 Inn.)
 
Russell scored the game-winning run as he scampered home on a wild pitch to lift the Bison to the extra innings victory. For the game, he had a 2-for-3 outing with an RBI and two runs scored. Micciche delivered three RBI on a 2-for-4 day at the dish while senior Chris Bruno (Darien, Conn.) drew a trio of walks at the leadoff spot. First-year Brady Boisvert (Plainfield, N.H.) was touched up for six runs – two earned – on nine hits to go with a pair of strikeouts in six innings for the Bison. Senior James Curto (Braintree, Mass.) evened his record at 1-1 as he pitched a hitless final two frames with a pair of punch-outs in relief.
 
Minn.-Morris 13, Nichols 8
 
Boisvert batted 2-for-3 with three RBI and a run scored as senior Anthony Benvenuti (North Haven, Conn.) and classmate Cody Jankins (West Brookfield, Mass.) finished the game 2-for-4 combining for four RBI and two runs scored. Rookie Joseph Nicolace (Cranston, R.I.), junior Nick Croteau (Fitchburg, Mass.), sophomore Chris Johnson (Mansfield, Mass.) and Jankins all saw time on the hill for the Bison in the spring break finale.
