FRANKLIN, Ind. – Albion College finished its Saturday doubleheader with just two fewer hits than Franklin College, but it's the number of runs that cross the plate that count in baseball. The host Grizzlies took advantage of 14 walks issued by five pitchers to sweep the doubleheader from the Britons by scores of 6-0 and 8-1.

Designated hitter Mitch Lasceski hit .400 for the day with two hits in five at-bats. Third baseman Dan Mills went 3-for-8 and he scored Albion's lone run. Outfielders Brendan Diamond and Michael Fischbach and first baseman Kyle Kowal also collected two hits apiece. Diamond also stole a pair of bases.

Davin Montgomery produced the RBI with a sixth inning groundout in game two.

Dylan Woolley was tagged with the loss in game one. He yielded four runs – but only one was earned – on six hits and three walks over five innings. Ben Gehan and Jesse Brigham worked scoreless innings in relief.

Game two starter Patrick Monahan did not record an out. He allowed four runs on six walks. Brigham worked three innings, allowing a run on two hits and two walks. Nate Brubaker worked two innings, yielding a run on two hits.

Albion will have a Sunday travel day to Florida. The Britons have a 9 a.m. Monday date with Wittenberg (Ohio) University at Chain of Lakes Park in Winter Haven. Bobby Lee, Albion's director of news & sports information, will be there for the play-by-play of the internet audio broadcast.
