In the Game 5 of the CUNYAC/MCU Baseball Championship, #1 Staten Island took on #3 Baruch in the final game of day two.

In the end, it was the Baruch advancing to face #2 Stevens in the Championship, 5-4.

"I'm excited," said Baruch's Angel Tejeda. "This wasn't the season we expected but we did what coach told us and it showed on the field today."

The top of the second inning saw Tejeda get on first with a hit-by-pitch. He stole second to get into scoring position with two outs for Philip Loprete who singled to left field to drive him in. Loprete advanced to second on the throw home before a wild pitch followed by a passed ball, scored him to make the game 2-0 in favor of the Bearcats.

Next inning, Matthew Ballone singled through the left side to get a runner on for Baruch. Keith Ezersky followed that up with a double down the left field line to put runners at second and third with one out. Nicholas Pomo-Roman singled up the middle to knock in both runners and give the Bearcats a 4-0 lead.

In the bottom of the third, Frank Sconzo walked and then advanced to second on a Chris Ramanauskas single. Phil Ciprello followed up with a single of his own to knock in Sconzo and put the Dolphins on the board 4-1. Ballone led off the top of the eighth with a walk. After getting to third on a sacrifice and wild pitch, Tejeda tripled deep to right-center for a run.

The Dolphins were down 5-1 going into the bottom of the ninth. John Palmeri and John Baggs led off with back-to-back singles. A Will DiFede single scored Palemeri to cut the lead to 5-2. A Francis Munoz single scored another before a Chris Moran single brought the game to 5-4.

With two outs, Ramanauskas was up with runners on first and second but he struck out looking to end the game.

For the Bearcats, Loprete had three hits with an RBI. Pomo-Roman had two RBIs on one hit. Tejeda went one for two with an RBI.

The Dolphins were led by DiFede who went two for four with an RBI.

Game 7: Same as Game 6 (If necessary), 4:00 pm
