Old Westbury Rallies to Defeat Baruch at MCU Park (5-4)

The Panthers of SUNY-Old Westbury defeated the Bearcats, 5-4, in a non-conference contest on Tuesday afternoon at MCU Park in Coney Island.

The Bearcats scored first with
Angel Tejedahitting a two-run homer to left field with Jasdeep Buttaron base for the 2-0 lead in the first inning. Buttar increased the lead to 3-0 with a solo homer to left field in the third inning.

Old Westbury from the Skyline Conference started their comeback with a run in the sixth, three in the seventh and one the eight to jump ahead 5-3.

The Bearcats battled back in their final at-bat and scored a run on a two-out RBI single by
Eric Ulinoto plate Matthew Ballone. They could not tie the game to suffer the loss at the minor league stadium of the Brooklyn Cyclones (MCU Park) on a chilly afternoon on Coney Island.

The Bearcats will return to action on Thursday, March 26, with a 3:30 pm non-conference contest against Rutgers-Newark at the Newark Bears minor league stadium in Newark, New Jersey.

This game will mark the third straight time the team will be playing in a popular minor league stadium in the tri-state area following MCU Park (today) and Dutchess Stadium (Sunday).
