For the second consecutive game, the Case Western Reserve baseball team earned a two-out, walk-off victory as sophomore centerfielder Aaron Cain (Hartville, Ohio /Archbishop Hoban) singled home pinch-runner Nate Glasser (San Diego, Calif. /Francis Parker) for a 2-1 Spartan victory over Penn State University-Behrend at Nobby's Ball Park.

Senior starting pitcher Kevin Johnstone (Placentia, Calif. /Valencia) threw his best game of the season, tossing shutout ball for 8.1 innings before yielding his only run. He walked two and struck out a season-high 11. Senior Dan Sondag (Cary, N.C. /Green Hope) retired the only two batters he faced, striking out one, to earn his first victory of the season.

The Spartans took a 1-0 lead in the first inning when sophomore leftfielder Josh Neal (Gaithersburg, Md. /St. John's College) walked, stole second, and scored on a single by senior third baseman Andrew Gronski (Hilliard, Ohio /Hilliard Davidson).

The score remained 1-0 until the ninth inning when the Lions tied the game on a walk, wild pitch, and single.

With one out in the bottom of the ninth inning, senior Jordan Swisher (Pittsford, N.Y. /Pittsford Sutherland) doubled. Glasser came in to run for Swisher and scored the winning run on Cain's two-out single.
