La Plume, Pa. – Felix Baez (San Juan, PR/Colegio Presbiteriano de Puerto Nuevo) threw a no-hitter on Friday afternoon, striking out 16 batters to lead Keystone College to a 1-0 victory over Marywood University in Colonial States Athletic Conference game at Christy Mathewson Field.  The senior right-hander tossed the first no-hitter for the Giants since Blaine O'Brien held Penn State Behrend hitless on March 10, 2012 in Fort Pierce, Florida.

Baez, the reigning CSAC Pitcher of the Year, tied for the third most strikeouts in a single game in Keystone history, with his 16 K's tying him with Angel Oquendo who also fanned 16 batters in a game in 2002.  Baez threw 130 pitches on the day, 76 for strikes, while walking four batters.

Louis Reyes (Port St. Lucie, FL/Treasure Coast) extended his hitting streak to 24 games with a one-out, infield single in the bottom of the third inning and moved to third on a Brandon Eady (Bowie, MD/DeMatha Catholic) double before scoring the game's only run when Billy Nelson (Moscow, PA/North Pocono) singled through the left side to give Keystone (18-5, 5-2 CSAC) the 1-0 edge.

The only time Marywood (8-12, 1-6 CSAC) put a runner in scoring position was in the top of the fifth inning when Baez walked the leadoff batter before Mitch Clemons laid down a sacrifice bunt with one out that was dropped by the Giants' first baseman.  Baez struck out the next two batters though to keep Keystone in front.

With Baez dealing for the Giants, the hosts were unable to add any insurance for their ace despite collecting 10 hits on the day.  But a day after Jesse Arnold (Stuart, FL/Port Saint Lucie) threw 10 scoreless innings with just three hits against in a win at Moravian College, Keystone was able to rely on their pitching to carry the load as Baez retired 10 of the last 11 batters he faced to improve to 4-1 on the season.

Nelson went 3-4 at the plate while seven of Keystone's other eight batters had one hit apiece on the day.

Justin Haddix suffered the hard luck loss for Marywood, allowing just the one run on 10 hits and no walks while striking out five batters in a complete game effort for the Pacers.

Prior to Friday's game, players from both teams signed the It's On Us pledge as part of a nation-wide campaign to educate communities, support survivors, and end sexual assault on college campuses.
