WINCHESTER, Va. – No. 16/35 Shenandoah University completed a weekend series sweep of Case Western Reserve with two wins Sunday afternoon over the Spartans.

Shenandoah (7-0) banged out a combined 25 hits in Sunday's double-dip while scoring in all but three of the 16 innings it came to bat in winning 12-6 and 8-1 over Case (0-3).

The Hornets also got a pair of outstanding pitching performance as sophomore Zach Teeple and freshman Gerard DePhillips each pitched eight innings of their starts in game one and game two, respectively.

DePhillips (2-0) allowed one unearned run on five hits in his game two performance. He struck out four and did not walk a batter before turning it over to sophomore CJ Morton for the ninth.

Teeple (2-0) gave two runs on six hits and four walks against four strikeouts in earning the game one victory.

The Hornets banged out 17 hits in game one and scored at least one run in every inning except the eighth. Seniors Abel Arocho and Dan Cameron were both 3 for 5 while classmate Jake Loew was 2 for 4 with four RBI on a single and a three-run home run.

The big inning was the seventh – SU scored four runs on three hits as it sent all nine men to the plate in the frame.

The dinger is Loew's third of the season and second of the weekend.

Tristan Baker had two hits, drove in a run and scored three times.

In game two, coach Kevin Anderson's club scored single runs in the first, third, fifth and sixth before breaking the game open with two runs in both the seventh and eighth.

Neil Dutton was 2 for 2 and Luke Nussman had a two-run home run in the eighth to lead the offense.

Shenandoah continues this homestand on Wednesday by hosting Elizabethtown in a 4 p.m. non-league contest.
