Becker Completes NECC Sweep of DWC

AUBURNDALE, Fla.-  Becker College completed a three-game sweep of Daniel Webster College with an 18-6 victory on Friday afternoon in New England Collegiate Conference baseball action at Lake Myrtle Park. The win lifts the Hawks record to 7-3 (3-0 NECC) while the Eagles sink to 1-6 (0-3 NECC).

Sophomore southpaw Tanyon Ventres (Holden, Mass.) improved to 2-0 on the year after allowing one earned run in seven innings of work.

The Hawks offense was paced by senior T.J. Sempkowski (Oceanport, N.J.) who turned in a 4-for-6 game with four RBI and two runs scored. Classmate Vaibhav Desai (Waltham, Mass.) went 3-for-4 with five RBI and three runs, while Niko Bedell (Manorville, N.Y.) inched closer to the 100-hit club with two more hits.

Daniel Webster was led by Mike Pelletier (Pelham, N.H.) who went 3-for-5 with an RBI and two runs. Matt Daulton (West Babylon, N.Y.) and Matt Alberino (Nashua, N.H.) chipped in with two hits apiece for the Eagles.

Daniel Webster starting pitcher Ryan Murray (Farmington Hills, Mich.) suffered the loss after allowing five earned run in three and a third innings of work.
