The Baruch College Bearcats suffered a doubleheader sweep to the Dolphins from the College of Staten Island on Sunday afternoon at the CSI Baseball Complex.

They lost 12-1 and 3-2 in extra innings (9) to drop their season record to 12-16.

The team currently sits in second place in the CUNYAC standings. Please note this year there is no head-to-head standings in CUNYAC, which instead will be listed by overall records to help later decide the tournament seeding.

In the first game, the Dolphins set the tone early by jumping out to an 8-0 lead through the middle of the fourth inning en route to the 12-1 win.

The Bearcats scored their lone run in the bottom fourth as Angel Acevedo smacked an RBI single to plate Jasdeep Buttar.

The second game was an exciting pitching duel as Ryan Warner kept the Bearcats alive with a line of 7IP, 6H, 2R, 1ER, 1B, 7K.

The Bearcats trailed 1-0 into their last at-bat, but Acevedo, who had clutch at-bats all weekend, was hero again with a two out, two run single to pull the team ahead, 2-1.

The Dolphins tied the contest in the bottom seventh and won it with a walk-off RBI double in the ninth inning to secure the win.
