DOVER, Del. – The Wesley College baseball team blanked the Penn State Harrisburg Lions, 6-0 at home en route to their first Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) victory of 2018.

Wesley opened the scoring in the bottom of the first when a wild pitch brought Will Barton home.

In the bottom of the fourth, Cody Dmiterchik stretched Wesley's lead to 4-0 when he emptied the bases on a three-run double to right center. A batter later, Chris Seibert cracked a two-run homer to give Wesley the 6-0 lead. With the home run, Seibert became Wesley's all-time home runs leader with the 22nd long ball of his career.

Offensively, Dmiterchik led all hitters with three hits and three RBIs in four plate appearances. Barton, Seibert and William Foster also notched a hit for the Wolverines.

On the mound, Alex Marrs pitched a complete-game shutout for the Wolverines. Marrs retired the first six batters before allowing a base runner and did not give up his first hit until the top of the fourth. Marrs scattered three hits and two walks while sitting down 10 Lions on strikes to help clinch the victory.

The Wolverines continue CAC play on Friday when they travel to Fireman's Field in Purcellville, Va. to take on the Frostburg State Bobcats in a doubleheader. The first game is scheduled for a 2:30 p.m. first pitch.
