Visiting Brockport staged a late game rally, scoring one run in the eighth and four in the ninth to defeat the University of Rochester 8-6 on Tuesday evening at UR's Towers Field.

The loss snaps Rochester's four-game winning streak and moves the Yellowjackets to 6-9 on the year, while Brockport improves to 12-11 on the season.

Brockport was led by Anthony Eaton who had a monster day at the plate, going 3-3 with two doubles, a home run, two RBI and two runs.  Avery Brooks also had three hits and Liam O'Leary was 2-5 with a 3-run triple in the ninth inning which gave the Golden Eagles the lead.

Rochester's Aiden Finch kept his strong season going with a 3-3 day, adding two doubles and 3 RBI.  Steve Pickering was 4-5 with two runs and two stolen bases while Aaron Craig added a 2-4 day at the plate with two runs and a stolen base.

On the mound, Trevor McCarthy fanned six Yellowjackets in 3.2 scoreless innings of relief for Brockport, picking up the victory.

For UR, Kevin Ho started and went four innings, allowing two runs while striking out four.  Hank Powers pitched the next 3.1 innings and gave up one run with three strikeouts.  Owen Gabbey took the loss, allowing five runs (four earned) over 1.2 innings.

Finch got the scoring started for UR, singled through the left side, plating Pickering in the bottom of the first.

The Golden Eagles then tied the score and took the lead with single runs in the second and third frames, only to see UR even the score back up in the fourth on a first and third double steal from Pickering and Craig.

Eaton's solo shot to left center gave Brockport the lead back in the fifth.

Rochester responded though, batting around and scoring four times in the bottom of the inning to go up 6-3.

Craig, Pickering and David Rieth all singled to lead the bases.  Finch then doubled to the fence in left scoring two runs chasing Brockport reliever Noah Dilbone.  Up next, Jack Herman came within a few feet of a 3-run homer, but had to settle for a deep sacrifice fly to complete the scoring in the inning.

In the eighth, Brockport scored a run on a wild pitch to pull within two.

Brooks then led off the ninth getting hit by a pitch.  Tom Kretzler followed with a rocket line drive which bounced off the glove of UR's Tyler Schmidt.  Austin Hall then bunted just out of reach of a sliding Gabbey on the mound, singling the bases loaded.

O'Leary followed with a hot shot down the left field line which tipped off the end of Herman's glove for a triple, clearing the bases and giving Brockport the lead.  Eaton then added a sacrifice fly for insurance, giving the Golden Eagles the 8-6 cushion.

Rochester returns to action on Wednesday with a road game at 19th ranked Oswego State.  Brockport plays at St. John Fisher on Wednesday.
