AUBURNDALE, FL - The Benedictine University baseball team used seven shutout innings from Alexander Schram to blank nation power UW-La Crosse on Monday in Florida.

THE DETAILS
Both pitchers allowed little to nothing on the offensive side, matching zeroes on the board
UW-La Crosse, a perennial power in the WIAC, placed runners on base in the first two innings and had a runner in scoring position in the second but couldn't break through against Schram
Schram retired nine in a row from the second through the fifth and left the bases loaded in the fifth before sitting down the final seven batters faced
Benedictine did not record a hit until Brenden Norberg singled to open the fourth
The game's only run scored in the bottom of the seventh
Benedictine, playing as the home team, received a leadoff single from Jack Feeley, who was promptly sacrificed up to second base
The only run scored on a double steal with Feeley crossing when pinch runner Michael Santarelli swiped second base
