The Baruch College Bearcats lost a rescheduled 5-2 contest to the Dolphins from the College of Staten Island on Thursday afternoon.

The visiting Bearcats took an early 1-0 lead in their first at-bat on a Conor McCabe RBI single down the right field line to plate Davic Capellan.

A pitching duel then erupted between the Bearcats' JP Ramirez and CSI's Kevin Ryan until the bottom of the fifth when the hosts scored three runs on three hits, which included a two run triple by Nick Falcone.

The Bearcats cut the deficit to 3-2 in the seventh on a Capellan RBI single that scored Kemal Deljanin.

The host Dophins picked up two insurance runs in the bottom seventh and held on to record a must-win game on their conference schedule.

The Bearcats sit alone in the CUNYAC standings in first place and will begin a three game series against John Jay on Friday afternoon with a single contest at 3:30 p.m. at MCU Park.
