SUNY Oneonta Blanks Cobleskill in Home Opener

A Quick Look
The SUNY Oneonta baseball team opened newly renovated Red Dragon Baseball Field with a 9-0 victory over SUNY Cobleskill Wednesday afternoon. The win lifts the Red Dragons record to 1-2 on the season.

The Inside Story

After Jake Barrett made his way to third with a single, a wild pitch and a pass ball, a Patrick McGee fly out to center gave the Red Dragons a 3-0 advantage. The Red Dragons capped off the inning with RBI singles from Ryan McGrane and James Ceparano to make the score 5-0.

In the bottom of the sixth, Sean McGlynn created his own run. The junior made his way around the bases on a single, a pair of stolen bases and wild pitch, increasing the lead to 6-0. Oneonta would add a pair of insurance runs in the bottom of the seventh when they took advantage of a Cobleskill error.  The Red Dragons wrapped up the scoring in the bottom of the eighth when Dominic Lamonica drove in James Ceparano with an RBI single.
