Baruch Drops Contest to Plymouth State

The Panthers of Plymouth State rallied in the ninth inning to defeat the Bearcats, 11-6, on Sunday afternoon in Fort Myers, Florida.

The Bearcats trailed 4-0 after the third inning but rallied with a pair of runs in each of the fourth, sixth and eighth innings to jump ahead 6-4.

Kemal Deljanin smacked a two-run homer in the fourth to cut the score to 4-2.

In the sixth inning, the two runs were scored with the bases loaded but no hits. Luke Lombardi was hit-by-a-pitch and Conor McCabe scored on a wild pitch.

The Bearcats took the lead in the eighth after Sandy Paulino scored on a wild pitch and Kevin Linitz smacked an RBI double for the 6-4 advantage.

Unfortunately, the Panthers from New Hampshire had a big ninth inning with seven runs on four hits and four errors to record the 11-6 win.

Deljanin had the big bat again going 3-for-5 with a homer, double, two RBI and two runs scored.

James Salta led the Panthers with four RBI.

The Bearcats will look to brush off the tough loss and will play their final game in Florida on Monday against Lakeland University of Wisconsin.
