Heidelberg powers its way to 16-5 win over Defiance

Tiffin, Ohio - The Heidelberg Student Princes launched four home runs en route to a 16-5 win over Defiance at Peaceful Valley Tuesday afternoon. Defiance drops to 3-9 while Heidelberg improves to 7-6.

Heidelberg got a run in the bottom of the first off of Johnny Hammerstein. The Yellow Jackets answered with two in the second to take their first and only lead of the game. Dylan King stole second and Jacob Hild scored on a throwing error to tie the game. Tyler Dehan stepped up and ripped a double to left center, scoring Hild to give the Yellow Jackets a 2-1 lead.

The Student Princes would respond in the bottom of the inning. Andrew Cook homered to left field to tie it and Cort Kramer would score on a wild pitch to retake the lead. Heidelberg never looked back as they plated five runs in the fourth and sixth inning to blow the game open.
