Keystone Sweeps Rosemont on Senior Day

LA PLUME, Pa.- The Keystone College baseball team enjoyed another CSAC sweep as they took down Rosemont College 14-6 and 9-4 Saturday afternoon at Christy Mathewson Field. Keystone moves to 27-11 (17-1 CSAC) while Rosemont falls to 15-20 (7-11 CSAC).

Prior to the start of the game, the team honored its ten baseball seniors: Wynston Dyer (Columbia, S.C./Spring Valley)Jason Thomas (Miami, Fla./Barbara Goleman)Julio Acosta (Elizabeth, N.J./Hudson Catholic)Anthony Raimo (Albany, N.Y./Christian Brothers Academy)Chris Hadsall (Lehman, Pa./Lake Lehman)Nathan Hinkley (Bradenton, Fla./Saint Lucie West Centennial)Brayan Villar (West Orange, N.J./Belleville)Kevin Murphy (Montgomery, N.Y./Valley Central)Brendan Kucharski (Throop, Pa./Mid Valley), and Angel Diaz (Woodhaven, N.Y./Richmond Hill).

Game One: Keystone 14; Rosemont 6

Raimo enjoyed a four-hit game with two RBI. Greg Verano (Raritan, N.J./Bridgewater-Raritan) went 3-for-3 with two RBI. Hadsall and Thomas both enjoyed two base hits while Griffijn Yastremski hit a monstertwo-run home run in the first game.

Villar earned the start and went five innings with one earned run and five strikeouts as the senior picked up his sixth win of the season. Tyler Mullen (Scott Township, Pa./Lakeland) and Slothing Che (Santo Domingo, D.R./Instituto Tecnologico Fabio Amable Mota) both appeared in relief and both pitchers picked up one strikout.

Game Two: Keystone 9; Rosemont 4

Robert Estrada (Jersey City, N.J./Ferris) and Josh Parks (Maple Valley, Wash./Tahoma) combined for four hits. Parks tallied a two-RBI double in the second game. Bobby Pokorney (Margate, Fla./J.P. Taravella) went 2-for-3 with a two-run home run. Hinkley earned the start and win going six scoreless innings with one strikeout. The senior right-handed pitcher and the 2023 Sean Murphy Memorial Award recipient forced 12 flyouts and five ground outs. Diaz and Murphy appeared in relief as each pitcher struck out a batter.

The Giants will wrap up the regular season tomorrow morning when they face the University of Scranton at home. First pitch is scheduled for 11 a.m.
