Roanoke Baseball defeats Methodist 12-4

The Short story:
Senior shortstop Jonny Wall ripped four hits Tuesday as the Roanoke College baseball team rolled to a 12-4 victory over Methodist University in non-conference action from WW Naff Field.

How it happened:
*Methodist plated single runs in the second and fourth innings to go ahead 2-0.
*The Maroons responded with four runs in the bottom of the fourth. Hayden Giordano singled to bring in Roanoke's first run and Kyle Moshier doubled to score another run. Cayden Freels followed with a rare two-run sacrifice fly to deep centerfield to make the score 4-2.
*The Maroons took advantage of a Monarch error to score one in the in the fifth and two more Methodist miscues to plate two in the seventh.
*Dylan Bonzon and Wall each delivered two-run doubles in the eighth and Giordano also doubled to bring home a run.

Inside the numbers:
*Wall went 4-5 with two doubles, three runs and two RBI.
*Bonzon was 3-5 with two runs and two RBI and Corey Coogan, Giordano and Spencer Rhoads each had two hits.  
*Jon Rossi earned the win on the hill and Trevor Orth notched the save.

*Roanoke (14-12) hosts Ferrum College Wednesday in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference game at 7 p.m., back in Salem Memorial Ballpark.
