Mount Union split a pair of games with No. 3  Marietta in an OAC series Thursday at 23rd Street Field in Alliance. In game one, Mount Union junior Zach Carlino scattered eight hits over six innings with four strikeouts as he moved to 4-1 on the season. It was more than enough for the Raiders offense that pounded out 15 hits and scored 13 runs. In game two, Marietta freshman pitcher Jason Byers allowed Mount Union only four hits and struck out 11 as the Pioneers scored a 6-0 win.

William Paterson knocked off No. 5 Ramapo with a score of 7-2 to remain perfect in NJAC play in Mahwah, N.J. Vin Fondacaro went 3-for-4 with three runs batted in, and Tyler Guillod was 2-for-5 with three RBI.

Cortland scored three times to tie the game in the bottom of the ninth, but Oswego plated two runs in the 11th and held on for a 5-4 win over the nationally top-ranked Red Dragons. Most of the contest featured a pitchers' duel between Cortland sophomore Brandon McClain and Oswego senior Adam Bishop as both opened with eight shutout innings. Both finished with no-decisions.

Senior Tucker White went 4-for-6 with two home runs, four runs scored and six RBI as Southern Maine pounded out 26 hits en route to a 22-10 victory over Salem State. Southern Maine's 22 runs, 26 hits, and 10 doubles are all single-game highs for the Huskies this season.

The Prairie Fire opened conference play by splitting a doubleheader at home against Grinnell. Knox used a six run fourth inning to win the first Midwest Conference South Division game for both squads 7-5, the Prairie Fire’s fourth straight victory. The Pioneers avoided the sweep and ended a two-game slide with a 14-8 win in the second contest.

One day after falling to the nation's No. 4 ranked team, Catholic bounced back in a big way, downing St. Mary's 11-4. The Cardinals pounded out 17 hits on the day and scored multiple runs in three innings, including four in the 8th. Seven Cards totaled more than one hit, led by Stefan Poggioli with three.

Hampden-Sydney took a 6-5 victory over North Carolina Wesleyan at Ty Cobb Ballpark. The game was called after seven and a half innings due to heavy rain and snow. As a team, the Tigers recorded 12 hits to the Bishops' ten. Spencer Wiles and Jeff Gray each had three while Gray knocked in three runs. Christian Hamlett was a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs and a walk.

Fredonia State rallied for two runs in the last of the eighth inning and claimed a 4-3 victory over Brockport in SUNYAC action at Ludwig Field. John Bennett drew a bases-loaded walk following an RBI single by Matt Casilio. Both runs scored with two outs. Zachary Jordon pitched the final 1 2/3 innings to improve to 3-0. The Blue Devils improved to 10-4 overall and 3-1 in the conference. The loss dropped the Golden Eagles to 10-9 overall and 1-6 in the SUNYAC.

Wooster scored four runs in the first inning and three in the third, and rolled past Muskingum by a 14-1 final as the Fighting Scots used nine different pitchers during their home opener at a sunny, but cool Art Murray Field. Sophomore John McLain hit his first career round-tripper, a three-run homer during a five-run eighth inning.

Senior Dylan Thomas threw a seven-hit shutout in game two with six strikeouts as the No. 7-ranked Tommies closed out a sweep of visiting Augsburg in MIAC baseball play at Koch Diamond. St. Thomas won 5-4 and 6-0 to extend its home-field winning streak to 28. The Toms had no errors on the day. 

Finishing both games in seven innings, Illinois Wesleyan outscored Beloit, 9-1, and 10-0, in picking up a pair of wins at Jack Horenberger Field.  The Titans improve to 12-4 overall, while the Buccaneers drop to 3-9 in their season.

La Roche extended their win-streak to four games and home win-streak to 17 with a decisive 12-1 victory over Bethany. Tyler Ferguson took the mound for the Redhawks and delivered another impressive performance en route to his fourth win of the season. La Roche's aggressive offense struck early and often, creating a large deficit that the Bison could not overcome.

Senior Ryan Zakszeski's walk-off single down the left field line capped a thriller at the JHU Baseball Diamond as No. 11 Johns Hopkins edged Stevenson, 16-15, in non-conference action. Hopkins battled back from separate deficits of five and four runs during the game to earn their 12th consecutive victory. The teams combined for 31 runs, 20 hits and 20 walks in the three hour and 40 minute contest.

St. John Fisher used a six-run second inning to provide all the offense it would need, as the Cardinals defeated visiting Rochester 9-4 in a non-conference baseball matchup. Sean Osterman was 2-for-4 on the day with two runs scored, while Chrid Roeder and Brad Rush also enjoyed multi-hit days.

Penn State Behrend tallied 30 hits and 21 runs in an AMCC doubleheader sweep of Hilbert. In game one, Tylor Williams stole the show on the mound with a complete game.  The sophomore pitcher struck out seven hitters and allowed just one run to pick up his second victory of the year. Seven different pitchers took the mound for Behrend in the finale, shutting the Hilbert offense down with 11 strikeouts and only five hits.  Ryan Jacobs earned the win after striking out the side in the fourth.

The only team in Minnesota to have a natural field ready for outdoor play, Bethel welcomed Hamline to Hargis Park to play the first MIAC doubleheader of the 2013 season. Because the game was scheduled to be at Hamline, the Pipers were the home team in both games—which may have caused more problems then they expected—as the Royals snagged two wins, 7-5 and 7-3 (10 inn.), as the visiting unit.

Rowan held on for a 9-7 win over Richard Stockton in a NJAC contest. The Ospreys trailed 9-4 going into the ninth inning. They scored three runs and had the bases loaded with two outs.  Righthander Jeff White came into the game and threw a ground ball for the third out and the save.

Dominican defeated the IIT Scarlet Hawks 12-3 in non-conference play in Schaumburg on. Six pitchers took to the bump for the Stars in the winning effort, surrendering three runs on ten hits and six walks while striking out six. The most effective arm for the Stars was Robert Bavone who picked up his first collegiate win. Over two innings, Bavone allowed no runs while scattering two hits.
