Visiting Tufts used a three-run fifth inning to turn a 3-1 deficit into a 4-3 lead and went on to win, 9-5, against the Trinity (Conn.) Bantams in NESCAC East Division action oon Saturday afternoon. The seven-inning game was the first of a scheduled doubleheader, but the nightcap was suspended after nine innings with the teams knotted at 3-3. The teams will finish the tie game tomorrow at noon at Trinity, followed by the final game of the three-game series.
Trine earned a split with visiting Hope, who is currently first place in the MIAA. The Thunder dropped the first game 8-4, and battled to take the second game 7-2.
Starting pitchers Rob Dittrick and Nick Morton turned in a pair of stellar performances while Nick Tasaka and Charlie Gaff came through at the plate as Pacific swept a NWC doubleheader from Whitworth at Chuck Bafaro Stadium. Dittrick turned in his second complete game performance of the season, allowing one run on 10 hits to lead the Boxers to a 2-1 victory in the opener. Morton, making his third start of the season, threw seven shutout innings to keep the Pirates stymied in an 8-1 win in the nightcap.
Thiel snapped the Washington and Jefferson Presidents' eight-game winning streak with a 5-4 come-from-behind victory in game one of a PAC doubleheader at Tomcat Park. The win is the first for the Tomcats over W&J since April 28, 2011, when the Tomcats defeated W&J 6-5 in a nine-inning showdown. Theil followed this up with a 4-2 win over the Presidents and now hold a two game win streak over Washington and Jefferson.
Huntingdon swept Covenant 4-3 and 10-4 in a pair of seven-inning games. Huntingdon won the first game of the series 6-4 on Friday. Huntingdon carries a seven-game winning streak into a crucial game with 20th-ranked Birmingham-Southern. Catcher Joseph Odom finished the day 3-for-6 with a two-run homer, six RBIs and one run. Odom's home run was his 13th of the season, the most by a Huntingdon player during the NCAA era. Odom, who leads Division III in home runs this season, has 27 career home runs in three seasons.
Junior Brett Rosen hit a walkoff three-run pinch-hit home run in the bottom of the ninth to lift the Mules to a 7-5 win over Franklin & Marshall in the second game of a doubleheader. The Diplomats used some ninth-inning magic of their own to take the first game, 6-3.

On a cold and windy afternoon at Defiance, the Yellow Jacket baseball team hosted the Franklin Grizzlies in a HCAC matchup and pulled out a tough 3-2 win to even its conference mark at 6-6. After giving up two runs on three hits in the first, Defiance starter Darin Waterman settled in on the bump and dominated the Grizzly bats. The junior gave up just two hits over the next five innings to finish the day with six innings pitched with eight strikeouts, while allowing two runs on five hits and seven walks.

In a game in which the Gulls were the away team despite that it was played at Endicott's North Field, Endicott collected a doubleheader sweep of CCC rival Gordon. The Gulls edged Gordon 3-2 in game one and then took a 7-0 shutout in the nightcap, improving their record to 16-10 and staying at the top of the CCC with a 7-1 conference mark. The Gulls have now beaten their neighbor Gordon in eight of the last nine meetings, and send the fighting Scots to a 14-10 record (3-5 CCC).
Berry snapped its four-game losing streak as it took two games from Centre. Game scores were 10-0 and 5-4 at William R. Bowdoin Field. In game one, Berry rode Casey Gray's pitching and a six-run eighth inning to defeat Centre. In game two, Ben Jernigan drove in the winning run with a two-out walk-off RBI single in the nightcap.
Alvernia posted a 5-run inning in game one and slammed the door with the game-tying run at third in game two of a doubleheader sweep at Lebanon Valley in Commonweatlh Conference baseball action.
Illinois College won the first game but lost the second of a doubleheader Grinnell in Grinnell, Iowa. The Blueboys won the opener, 5-0, but lost the nightcap, 8-2. David Pardo stole the show in the opener, allowing just two hits and one walk in a nine-inning, complete-game effort. Pardo struck out six in the win.

Gallaudet swept SUNYIT 15-2 and 3-0 in a key NEAC doubleheader at Hoy Field. The Bison swept the regular-season twin bill with the Wildcats for the first time in the past three years. Gallaudet outscored SUNYIT by 16 runs, 18-2, over the course of the two games. The 15 runs scored in the first game are the most for GU since a 17-3 victory over Westfield St. on March 18.
Junior designated hitter Nick Meoli went 2-for-4 with a home run, a run scored and three RBI while junior shortstop Brandan Adams was 2-for-5 with two doubles, a run scored and three RBI to lead FDU-Florham Devils to an 8-6 victory over DeSales in the first game of a three-game Freedom Conference series.
William Paterson bounced back from a 3-1 opening loss to win the back end of a doubleheader at Rutgers-Camden, 11-3. The Pioneers took the early lead but couldn't hold on during an opening loss to the Scarlet Raptors. Junior Josh Jensen tossed seven innings of one-run ball as William Paterson salvaged the split.
Hampden-Sydney won two key games against Washington & Lee in an ODAC doubleheader action while moving into third place in conference with just three games remaining in the regular season. After taking 11-10 and 12-9 wins, the Tigers stand at 18-15-1 overall and 10-7 in conference. The Generals drop to 15-13 overall and 8-7 in ODAC play.
Fontbonne starting pitcher Jacob Becker fired a complete-game shutout in game one before the Griffins exploded for a six-run fourth inning in the nightcap in a SLIAC doubleheader sweep of Eureka at Henry Sand Field. Fontbonne won the opener, 3-0, and also claimed game two, 10-3.

Wooster combined for 18 extra-base hits and 32 runs as the Fighting Scots swept past NCAC East Division foe Hiram by scores of 20-1 and 12-2 at a cold and windy Art Murray Field. Overall, Jarrod Mancine, Eddie Reese, and Ryan Miner led Wooster's hit parade with five apiece, as they went 5-for-8 with two RBI, 5-for-7 with eight RBI, and 5-for-5, respectively.
St. Scholastica split a doubleheader for the second time this season with UW-La Crosse, dropping game one 7-4 and coming out on top in the nightcap 7-5. The games did not come together until late Friday afternoon and then officially Friday night. The Saints were scheduled to face Martin Luther in a conference series this weekend, but those games got wiped out due to the weather.
With four terrific performances on the hill, Brandeis and WPI split a doubleheader. In the opener, Brandeis senior Dylan Britton bested WPI rookie Mark Bentson, 5-3. The Engineers took the second game, 2-1, as sophomore Taylor Landry outdueled Judge senior Mike Swerdloff.
Olivet split a MIAA doubleheader with Albion at Frank Joranko Field in Albion. After losing the opener, 6-1, the Comets gained the split by winning the nightcap, 15-2.
