Concordia crossed the plate 27 times and knocked out 29 hits in its season-opening sweep over Houghton on Tuesday. The Cobbers won 13-0 and 14-2 as they gave head coach Chris Coste wins in his first two games as a collegiate head coach. The Cobbers made it three with a 6-4 victory over Augustana.

On Monday Augustana used a three-hit effort by three hurlers and junior Nathan Gray hit the Vikings' first home run of the spring as the Vikings notched a 6-2 win over Capital at Chain of Lakes Park. On Tuesday, Hanover gave Augustana their first loss of the season with a 18-7 drubbing Matt Brooks and Alex Lantz each collected four hits to spark Hanover’s 24-hit attack.

Maryville used a seven-run inning to extend their win streak to five games with a series sweep of Greensboro on Monday. The Scots' won 10-8 win on Maryville 's Scotland Yard.

Averett let a 6-1 lead slip away to Lynchburg before ultimately prevailing 7-6 in 10 innings on Wednesday afternoon. In the extra frame, Drew Evans scored on Nic Futrell's sacrifice fly to right for the winning run.

Stevens Institute junior Nicholas Sieber drove in three runs Wednesday to lead the Ducks to a season opening 9-2 victory over Drew. Senior Peirce Marston started for the Ducks and recorded the win, tossing five solid innings while allowing only four baserunners and striking out two.

Oglethorpe scored six runs over the first two innings Tuesday afternoon on the campus of No. 3 Emory and, though the home-standing Eagles mounted a comeback, the Stormy Petrels held on down the stretch for a 7-6 victory over their highly-ranked crosstown rivals on a frigid afternoon in Atlanta. The win marks the team's first victory over a Top 10 opponent since they defeated No. 3 Wisconsin-Stevens Point in Auburndale, Fla., in 2011.

Through the first four games of the Alma's Spring Break trip to Florida, the common theme was pitching and defense en route to a 4-0 start. On Tuesday against Hanover, the Scots used a different approach and defeated the Panthers in a slugfest, 12-7.
