Senior Stuart Brown homered and had three RBI as ninth-ranked Randoph-Macon outscored Marymount 13-6. The Yellow Jackets put up crooked numbers in five different innings. Joseph Tuzzolo went 3 for 6 with two RBI, while Rick Spiers was 1 for 3 with two walks and three runs.
Senior Jacob Roley threw 7.1 innings and senior Brandon McCumber knocked out three hits as MSOE defeated Rose-Hulman 5-3 at the RussMatt Invitational. The Raiders broke a 2-2 tie with the Fightin' Engineers with a three-run eighth inning and held off a rally in the bottom half to get the win. Roley worked around eight hits in his second start of the young season, striking out four and allowing three runs. Sophomore Sam Crawford retired all five batters that he faced to earn the save.
Houghton picked up their first win of the year in a big way, defeating the Eastern Eagles, 20-10. Freshman pitcher Holden Deres picked up his first career win, tossing six innings while striking out five and allowing only six hits, two walks and one earned run. In his first career start, Carl Holmes reached base in all six of his plate appearances, going 4-for-4 with two walks. Holmes also stole two bases, scored three runs and knocked in a run.
Senior Brian Killinger smashed his team's first home run of the season for the go-ahead run, and the Bulldogs turned in two defensive gems late in the game, as visiting Adrian came from behind to clip nationally-ranked Birmingham-Southern 3-2.
Capital pitched a pair of shutouts at the RussMatt Invitational, improving their overall record to 6-1. The Purple and White defeated Lyndon State by scores of 9-0 and 7-0 at Lake Myrtle Park. Gabe Morris rolled through six innings of work to set himself up for his first win of the season, freshman Ross Thompson came in to close the door in the bottom of the seventh for the game one win. Senior Brett Colburn made the shift from second base to the pitcher's mound where he threw five shutout innings and struck out five batters and walking zero. He earned his second win of his career behind the effort.

Alma traveled to Chain of Lakes Park to face Concordia-Moorhead and picked up its first win of the season, downing the Cobbers by a 7-1 margin. In his first start of the season on the bump for the Scots, junior Eric Frontzak pitched his first career complete game, holding onto a no-hitter until the final out of the afternoon. Frontzak ended with a one-hit gem for the Scots.
Averett shut out Guilford for a 3-0 non-conference victory at Owen-Fulton Field for their second win of the season. Averett got its run support early, taking a 1-0 lead in the second inning and adding two more insurance runs the following inning. Sophomore right-hander Dillon Roberts earned the win, going five innings while striking out two and allowing just one hit and two walks. Sophomore Matt Tuggle followed three relievers,pitching the final 1.1 innings to earn his first save of the season.
Senior first baseman Eriq Colón contributed a pair of home runs as William Paterson rolled to a 14-2 victory against Baruch at MCU Park. The game was stopped after eight innings due to darkness. Colón went 2-for-4 with a pair of home runs, five RBI and two runs scored. Rob Eggert finished 3-for-4 with a double, two RBI and one run scored, while Mike Rowe was 2-for-4 and added three RBI and a pair of runs.
In one of the coldest season openers in recent memory, UMass-Boston overcame the elements to earn a hard fought 11-6 non-conference win over Lasell at Monan Park. Senior catcher Anthony Searles played a major part in the victory as he connected for a pair of triples in four at-bats. He drove in one run, and accounted for two of the Beacons 11 runs.
Waynesburg continued its run at the Russ Matt Central Florida Invitational. The Yellow Jackets played a seven-inning doubleheader with Finlandia and rolled to a sweep of the Lions. The Jackets won their third and fourth-straight games of the season by the lopsided scores of 22-1 and 12-1. Waynesburg hit .429 on the day with 30 base hits, 10 of which were extra-base hits, including eight doubles. The Jackets also drew 12 walks, while not issuing a free pass.
Despite giving up just 11 hits in the doubleheader, Augsburg dropped a pair of games to Mayville State on Thursday morning at U.S. Bank Stadium. The Comets rallied for a 5-4 win over the Auggies in the opener, then claimed a 1-0 win in the second game.
