C Chris Zapata, Jr., Centenary (La.)
Zapata had himself quite the week in Centenary's sweep of Southwestern to wrap up the Gents second outright SCAC regular season title in three seasons. He batted .769 (10-for-13) with three runs and seven RBIs. With six extra-base hits (four doubles, two home runs) he finished with a 1.538 slugging percentage. He threw out two of three runners attempting to steal as part of his flawless defense.
1B Sergio Diaz, Fr. DeSales
Diaz batted .667 (10-for-15) on the week with three runs scored and seven driven in. Diaz compiled a 1.267 slugging percentage with three doubles and two home runs.
2B JC Ball, Fr., Rutgers Newark
Ball had an excellent week for Rutgers-Newark, going 16-for-23 (.696) with a .720 on-base percentage and an .870 slugging percentage. Ball scored eight runs and drove in seven, notching two doubles, one triple and six stolen bases. He fielder 24 chances without an error in the field.
SS Kyle Bonicki, Jr., Clark
Bonicki scored six runs and drove in three as Clark went 3-1 on the week. His slash line was .714/.800/1.357 as walked six times and had six extra base hits (four doubles, triple, home run).
3B Steven Gallagher, So., WPI
Gallagher hit .579 (11-for-19) with an eye-popping 1.368 slugging and .615 on-base percentages in a 5-0 week for the Engineers. Five of his 11 hits were home runs for 26 total bases to go with 16 RBI and 12 runs scored.
OF Anthony Crowley, So., Westfield State
Crowley had a huge week finishing 10-for-16 (.636) with six extra base hits (a double, three triples, and a pair of home runs) in leading Westfield State to a 5-0 week. Crowley finished with a .714 OBP ( he drew five walks on the week) and a slugging percentage of 1.438. He scored ten times with 12 RBIs.
OF Trey Mears, Sr., Wesley
Mears belted four home runs with 11 RBIs while hitting .556 (10-for-18) last week, helping the Wolverines clinch the No. 4 seed in the CAC Tournament. Mears scored eight times and registered four stolen bases. He hit a home run in three of four games, posting a slugging percentage of 1.278 and getting on base at a .609 clip.
OF Cole Miglorini, Jr., Randolph-Macon
Migliorini drove in nine runs and score seven times on the week. He batted .563 (9-for-16) and slugged 1.250 (double, two triples, and two home runs). With three walks, his on-base percentage was .632.
DH Will Costinett, Jr., Belhaven
Will Costinett hit two home runs and drove in five runs last week for Belhaven. The junior transfer batted .545 (6-for-11) with a slugging percentage of 1.091.
SP Brad Margolin, Sr., Washington University
Margolin had another stellar performance in a series opening victory this week as he shutout his second consecutive UAA opponent in as many tries. Margolin threw nine innings of scoreless baseball, allowing just two hits and one walk with five strikeouts as the Bears pulled out a 1-0 win over Case Western.
SP Danny Poidomani, So., Stevens Institute
Poidomani continued to star on the mound in his first full season as a starter, turning in his best performance of the season in Stevens' 9-0 win over Elmira. The left-hander scatted just two hits over seven innings with nine strikeouts and struck out the side in his final inning of work.
SP Cory Steinhart, Jr., MacMurray
Steinhart tossed a seven inning no-hitter in the Highlanders 5-0 win over Robert Morris on Saturday. Steinhart lost the perfect game with one out in the seventh with a base-on-balls. He got the final two outs to preserve the no-hitter
RP Nick Ferngren, Jr., Rhodes
Ferngren came in relief in game two against Hendrix on Friday with the scored tied 3-3 in the 3rd. He pitched the final 5.0 innings allowing 1 hit, 0 walks and 10 K's to pick up the win in a 4-3 final. He also pitched an inning against Christian Brothers on Wednesday. For the week, Ferngren pitched 6.0 innings, allowed 1 hit, 0 walks and tallied 12 strikeouts.
