Emory opened the 2018 season, splitting a doubleheader against Piedmont in Demorest, GA. The Eagles wasted no time warming up at the plate as the team recorded 13 runs on 23 hits to win the season opener 13-6. Sophomores Christopher Stern and Richard Brereton went a combined 10-for-11 for Emory. Stern had a career day, going 6-for-6 with four RBI, tying Gabe Shivers' single-game program record for hits which was also accomplished against the Panthers on March 30th, 2010. In the nightcap, Emory tied the game in the eighth inning but Piedmont put up a four spot for the 10-6 final. Piedmont's Brady Ballstadt led all hitters with a 4-for-4 performance in the finale.
On the second day of the Centenary College Classic, East Texas Baptist split a pair of games. ETBU won their first game of the year, 5-4, over Pacific but then fell to Whitworth, 6-2. Home standing No. 20 Centenary (La.) defeated Whitworth 3-0 but saw their second game in two days against Pacific postponed due to rain. The Gents leads the Classic with a 2-0 record with Whitworth second with a 2-1 mark. The tournament concludes on Sunday.

In its 2018 season opener, the Sul Ross Lobos won both ends of a Saturday doubleheader over visiting University of Dallas. Following a 7-3 victory in game one, Sully unleashed a 20-hit payload and coasted to a 13-4 win over the Crusaders in the back end of the twin bill.

Junior southpaw Alex Baez got his first start in 2018 in game one of a doubleheader against the Bearcats of Willamette University and made his presence felt right from the get go, throwing a complete game shutout, winning 9-0 in game one. He had double digit strikeouts, while surrendering a mere four hits. The Poets fell in games two as Willamette scored two late runs to reclaim a lost lead and a 7-6 win.

Huntingdon picked up its second straight win over Millsaps with a 6-2 victory on Saturday. The Hawks knocked off the Majors 3-2 on Friday in the season opener for both teams. In Saturday's win, the Hawks scored one run in the third inning to take the lead and added three runs in the sixth and two runs in the seventh to finish off the Majors. On the mound, junior Blake Mayes picked up his first win in his first appearance as a Hawk. Mayes struck out four, walked three and allowed four hits in five scoreless innings.
George Fox scored in all but one inning in its rematch with Schreiner, routing the Mountaineers, 13-3. AJ Valencia led the way with three RBIs while Sam Swenson and Kyler Brudwick each drove in two. The 13-3 victory marks back-to-back wins for the Bruins, who now sit at 2-1 on the road trip. They wrap up the Texas road trip with a game against Rhodes.
Pfeiffer opened a new chapter in their school's baseball history with their first games at the D-III level. The Falcons opened with a doubleheader in Gaffney, SC, as they took on the Limestone Saints and the Carson-Newman Eagles. The Falcons dropped both games on the day, 4-3 to Limestone and 13-10 to Carson-Newman, but also had plenty bright spots to open up the new campaign. Senior catcher Christian Marciano was 4-for-4 on the day and Will Altemueller pitched 2.2 innings of shutout ball in relief.
A six-run seventh inning that broke an 8-8 tie gave Claremont-Mudd-Scripps their first victory of the season over Lewis & Clark in game one of a doubleheader. The 14-8 win featured 11 hits from the Stags, including three apiece from Ryan Motter and Chase Eller. In game two, the Stags came from behind to win 6-4 to sweep the day. Trey Smith and CJ Novogradac each notched two hits and Motter chipped in two RBIs.
