A six-run seventh-inning lifted the Hawks to a 10-6 victory over the Massachusetts Maritime Buccaneers in a Tuesday afternoon non-conference baseball game at Commodore Hendy Field. Becker matched a season-high 14 hits in the victory with Coby Hussey going 3-for-5 with two runs and two stolen bases and Noah Rivera batted 2-for-5 with a double, two runs and a game-high three RBI. Daniel Diaz pitched four innings of relief, and allowed just two runs on six hits to earn his second win of the season.
New Jersey City swiped a single-game school record nine stolen bases and used its speed to win for the seventh time in eight games, defeating Baruch, 7-4, in a non-conference game at MCU Park in Coney Island, Brooklyn. The Gothic Knights scored twice in three different innings to account for the most of the run production. NJCU (7-4), had 11 hits, led by senior centerfielder Jesse Kraft, who batted 4-for-5 with three runs, one RBI, a triple and double and was on base five times (one walk). NJCU put up a pair of runs in the first and third innings to jump out to a 4-0 lead. Baruch fell to 3-7.
St. Thomas (Minn.) met Franklin as both continued their spring break trips. The Grizzlies (9-6) fell behind early but kept the game close as the teams entered the late innings. But three big St. Thomas (7-3) innings to close out the game proved too much to overcome in a 14-4 win for the Tommies. Chandler Schaefbauer had a big day, going 4-for-5 with two runs and five RBIs.
Brooks DuBose and Tyler Moore both homered and Covenant used an eight-run third inning to defeat Sewanee, 9-4, on Lookout Mountain. Covenant goes to 11-12 on the year, while Sewanee drops to 16-10. The teams split their regular season series as Sewanee won 12-7 on March 12. The Scots sent 11 batters to the plate in the third inning and scored eight runs on five hits.
Fitchburg State defeated the Lasers of Lasell, 6-2 this afternoon in non-conference action from the Stein Diamond, on the campus of Brandeis. First ever meeting between the two teams in baseball with the Falcons 1-0 vs the Laser. Vincent Eramo led the way for Fitchburg State, going 1-for-3 with double and three RBI. Adam Somers picked up the win for the Falcons, allowing one run with five K's in five innings of work
Junior JR DiSarcina rapped out three hits and drove in four runs to lead UMass Dartmouth to an 8-2 Little East Conference victory over 23rd-ranked UMass Boston at Monan Park. enior Eddie Riley (Quincy, Mass.) picked up the lone extra base hit as part of a five-hit attack in the setback for UMass Boston, as freshman Dylan Fashempour allowed four earned runs and struck out four over the first four innings of work to fall to 1-1 for the Beacons. UMass Dartmouth, which defeated 14th-ranked Keystone back on March 10th at the RussMatt Invitational in Auburndale, Fla., hosts Roger Williams in a non-league outing.

Visiting Cortland used a couple of big innings late in the game to power its way past Rochester in a 15-1 victory at Towers Field. The Red Dragons (11-8-1) put up 10 runs total in the sixth and seventh innings combined to blow open a tight 3-1 affair. Rochester drops to 6-6 on the season with the loss. Rochestrer snaps a five-game winning streak, and was held to just three hits on the day by the Red Dragon pitching staff as Cortland picked up its fourth straight win.
For the first time since upsetting a No. 1 ranked Hornets team in 2011, the EMU Diamond Royals beat Shenandoah, this time by a score of 8-4. With the road victory, the Royals improve to 3-6 in conference play and 9-13-1 on the season. In a mid-week matchup on the road, EMU looked to staff the game on the mound and throw different pitchers giving the Hornets a different look. As a pitching staff, the Royals did not give up an earned run.
Transylvania began its Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference schedule with fire, sweeping the Earlham Quakers 4-1 and 17-6 at Marquard Field. The Pioneers battled Earlham tightly for most of game one in an afternoon-opening pitcher's duel before plating three runs late to pull off a thrilling victory. Transylvania rode upon its game one momentum by reeling off 14 runs in the first five innings of game two to end its day on a dominant note in moving to 2-0 in HCAC play and 9-11 overall. Earlham fell to 8-11 overall and 0-2 in conference play. The game two win served as Transylvania's largest single-game run output this season as well as its largest margin of victory over an opponent in the 2019 campaign.
Stevenson fell behind early 5-0 in the first and was never able to overcome the margin as local foe McDaniel downed the Mustangs by a score of 10-3 at Preston Field. McDaniel (8-8) grabbed five runs off the Mustang's freshman starter with their first at-bat of the game as Ryan Downes plated one with a fielder's choice with one gone. Then, with two outs Brad Thaxton singled and Julian Jenkins each drove home one run, while TJ McGuire knocked in a pair with a bases-clearing double for the 5-0 lead they wold hold all game.

The Beavers (10-2, 3-0 NEWMAC), who are ranked No. 19 in the D3baseball.com Top 25 and No. 4 in the recently released New England Intercollegiate Baseball Association Coaches Poll, extend their winning streak to nine games as the Engineers, who debuted at No. 8 on the same regional scroll, dip to 13-5 and 0-1.

Crown won the first game easily as Nicholas Schroedle picked up his second win of the season, and his second game with no earned runs on the year. Schroedle went seven innings, allowed only six hits and struck out seven. He received some help from outfielder Derek Albers who robbed a home run and another spectacular grab in an incredible defensive game for the first-year player. Pitching the second game was senior Kress Medina, who started at third base the first contest. He pitched a complete game shutout with seven strikeouts and only six hits allowed, his first win of the season.
Middlebury scored five of its six runs in the first three innings, on its way to a 6-4 win over Thomas (1-11). The Panthers (7-4) return to action on Wednesday against Union. Sam Grace (1-0) earned the win, allowing two runs on two hits with eight strikeouts over five innings of work. Andrew Martinson pitched a scoreless eighth, as did Colby Morris in the ninth to earn the save. Six different Panthers had hits in the game, including a double by Woodring and three steals by Brooks Carroll.
Junior catcher Reece Yeargain went 3 for 4 with a double, a homer, two runs and four RBI as the ninth-ranked Randolph-Macon baseball team posted an 8-5 victory at St. Mary's (Md.) on Tuesday afternoon. R-MC had numerous firsts on the mound. Senior right-hander Jack Maccagnan, Sophomore lefty Zach Greber, Sophomore right-hander Bryan Diehr, and Freshman lefty Michael Stopper all made their first appearance for the Yellow Jackets.
