Jackson Heuer tossed eight innings in game one and the Covenant baseball team scored 27 runs over two games in a doubleheader sweep of Brevard on Monday afternoon at Gil Coan Field. Covenant took game one, 8-2, before completing the sweep with a 19-9 victory in the finale.

Drew Weaver threw his second complete game of the season and Kellan Huang matched his longest start of the season as Albion took a pair of Monday games, 11-0 and 9-2, from MIAA rival Kalamazoo at Champions Stadium at Frank Joranko Field. The victories lifted Albion to a split of the four games with Kalamazoo. Weaver (3-2) allowed four hits in pitching his first shutout at the collegiate level. Albion slugged six extra base hits to support Huang in game two. Huang improved to 4-1 after allowing a run on seven hits and a walk. Albion, 16-11 overall and 11-5 against MIAA rivals, maintains third place in the MIAA standings with 12 league games remaining. 

St. Scholastica swept Northwestern (Minn.) on
Monday, taking game one 10-4 and the nightcap 5-1.

Pacific split a doubleheader with Pacific Lutheran, winning game one – 13-1 and losing game two – 15-5.  The Boxers (20-16, 12-9 NWC) began the day scoring a season-high 13 runs on another season-high 17 hits against six-different pitchers for the host Lutes in game one. The Lutes (20-13, 12-9 NWC) came back in game two to score 15 runs on 12 hits against seven Boxer pitchers.

Senior Shawn Knutson had four hits as Finlandia (4-20, 1-11 WIAC) split with UW-Stevens Point (13-11, 5-5 WIAC), at Woodside Sports Complex. The Lions lost 22-7 and won the second game 9-7. The Lions would take a 9-3 lead heading into the bottom of the ninth but UW-Stevens Points made things interesting scoring four runs in the inning. With a runner at second and two outs, Finlandia got a fly out to end the game. The victory in the nightcap was the first ever WIAC win for Finlandia.

It was a day of returns, and for MacMurray -- a welcomed refund. On Tax Day, the Highlanders slugged 13 hits in their return to Greenville en route to a commanding 10-2 win over the Panthers. MacMurray split a pair on Friday night before taking the rubber match on Monday evening. Nick Martin paced the Highlander offense, going 3 for 5 with 3 RBI and two doubles. Hayden Radford also added three hits, while Alec Taylor drove in three.

Forced to move the series finale to the turf of Lee Pfund Stadium, North Central completed the series sweep of Elmhurst on Monday, clawing out a 2-1 pitcher's duel behind 8.1 sparkling innings from Jason Shanner. Shanner improved to 3-0 with the win, allowing just one run on four hits over his 8 1/3 innings, striking out eight while walking none.

No. 23 ranked UW-Whitewater extended its winning streak to six games with two victories over UW-Stout in a WIAC doubleheader at Prucha Field at James B. Miller Stadium. The Warhawks (16-6 overall, 9-1 WIAC) mashed 33 hits in the two games combined, earning a 10-0 triumph in eight innings in the opener before posting a 19-0 win in the nightcap in seven innings. Both games were called due to run rule. In Game 1, sophomore shortstop Nick Santoro, senior second baseman Nick Schrader and senior third baseman Cal Aldridge, the top three hitters in UW-Whitewater's lineup, combined for eight hits. All three tallied two runs scored and one run batted in. In the second game, UW-Whitewater scored in every inning and collected four home runs along the way.
