LINCOLN, Neb. – Scott Ballinger has announced his resignation as Head Baseball Coach at Nebraska Wesleyan.
 
Ballinger has been with the Prairie Wolves baseball program for eight seasons, including the past five years as the head coach.  He served as an assistant coach under Bill Fagler for three years from 2012-14, then replaced him as head coach in 2015.
 
In his first three seasons, Ballinger improved the Prairie Wolves overall win total each year.   During his tenure 11 players earned All-Conference recognition and two players earned CoSIDA Academic All-District honors.  Overall Ballinger compiled a 55-131 record as head coach at Nebraska Wesleyan.
 
"I am very appreciative of the time, energy and leadership that Scott has given to the Prairie Wolves baseball program, and I wish the best for him and his family as they move forward," NWU Athletic Director Ira Zeff said.
 
This past season Nebraska Wesleyan ended the year 10-25 overall and 8-15 in American Rivers Conference play finishing 8^th in the league standings missing out on the 6-team postseason tournament.
 
The search for a new baseball coach at Nebraska Wesleyan will begin immediately.
